SEPTEMBER
2018
Worthy President’s Message Greetings My Brothers and Sisters,
The backpack handout was a great success and helped a lot of families. I was very happy with the turnout
we had. Thank you to all the members and volunteers who helped and Ted for working with A Precious Child
to make it another successful year!
We are still having our Zumba class every Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am downstairs. Men and women are
both invited to join. Cost is $5.00!
For the month of September, we have several things happening!
First is our State Campout at Eagle State Park at 11 Mile Reservoir. This is happening Labor Day weekend
and a fun time is guaranteed to be had by all. Several of our Aerie/Auxiliary members are planning on being
there, so come down and join us. There is a map with directions at the Aerie home.
Football is back, and the Broncos are gearing up for another season. We will be having potlucks at halftime
during the games. If you are unable to bring something, you can still join in the yumminess with a $5.00
donation.
We will be having a Poker Night on September 15th! Sign up is at 5:30 pm and the games start at 6:00 pm.
Come out and try your hand!
We will be having a Red/Green Chile Cook off on September 22nd form 2-3 pm. See the attached flyer for
details! Entry fee is $10.00.
Just a reminder to all members! You must always have your membership card and ID on you when visiting
the club. You will be asked for these by your bartenders! No Exceptions!
I hope everyone has a great end of summer and hope to see you at the Thornton Eagles soon!
Worthy President,
Hector A. Flores Jr.
