Defaults have to be reported within 8 days starting on installation date on the customer's site (point of reference is the date indicated on the declaration of correct installation issued to the end user by the installer). See general sales terms.
In the event the wind value indicated on the correct laying declaration is exceeded, the awning must be closed. a suitably calibrated anemometer may be used, if the awning is motorised.
The product is not designed to withstand snow. The awning must be closed in the event of even moderate snowfall.
To have your product warranty the certificate of proper installation is MaNDaTORY. a copy must be given to the final customer and a copy shall be sent to Velombra Srl. The reception of the duly completed certificate will activate the product warranty.
any change to the product not expressly authorized by Velombra Srl leads to loss of warranty.
The structures that are located in an urban environment are subject to pollutants (smog, acid rain), smoke from chimneys, fumes from cooking, and weather in general. It is normal for the fabric and the structure to get dirty. The structures and the fabric are NOT self-cleaning.
POles
By applying a lateral load on the pillar an oscillation in the structure may occur. This movement is not a sign of structural weakness, but is considered normal for the type of structure. The structure has been calculated by qualified engineers using the Eurocodes and is guaranteed to wind up to the level indicated in the EC certificate and in the Declaration of correct installation. While mounting the posts on structures in which the base is separate from the posts, there may be some play due to the tolerance between the base and the posts inserted into it. In these cases, the installer must take steps to eliminate this play by inserting a shim with adhesive tape and covering the internal part of the base.
If a decision is made to anchor the sails using posts sunk into the ground, the terrain must be compact and natural, not filled in for the purpose, in which case other technical solutions must be found. The posts may be mounted using concrete plinths and the relative lock plate produced by Velombra. The technical drawings of any underground systems (electrical cables, telephone, pipes and sewers) must be examined. In that event, the landowner must give written consent prior to the installation and, in case of damage, Velombra shall be released from any liability.
WallanchORaGe
In the event of wall anchorage, the quality and state of the installation dictate the extraction force of the screw or chemical anchor. In concrete the extraction force is approximately 800 kg; with bricks the force varies from 100 to 150 kg. The best fixing solution is to use a chemical anchor, comprising a threaded bar fastened into the wall with special glue and a dowel. In case of doubt as to the strength of the screws to be used, it is advisable to contact a surveyor or other expert for advice. Breezeblock walls must be reinforced to withstand the extra strain. Velombra fastening plates may be used to fasten to the wall, but no dowels must be fastened near corners, windows or doors.

canVasDepending on installation conditions, the canvas may get dirty in various ways (pollutants, fumes from flues, smog, etc.). In that case it may be necessary to clean the canvas more frequently as indicated in the maintenance section.
The cloth is not immune from burns caused by cigarette butts, etc..
In particular situations, condensation may form on the inside of the canvas. The area should be properly ventilated to limit this problem.
The appearance of mold in the embossing of the fabric is due to the presence of moisture on the sheet that favores the formation of micro-organisms. It is therefore necessary to clean the fabric at regular intervals, more frequently if necessary.
laMPsTo maintain good efficiency in the seals, thereby ensuring the IP product protection level (shown in the manual), you must do the maintenance indicated in the manual.
VelOMBRa sailsanD canVases
Sail canvas is subjected to continuous technical controls to improve its resistance to uV rays, salinity, humidity and wind, leak tightness, rigidity, water run-off, dirt and tear resistance. Despite these controls, the canvas may have the following characteristics:
Creasing: in the area of the creasing, there may be marks (“chalk marks”) created during packaging or folding and during assembly or closing of the sail. Creasing is inevitable on larger surfaces. Before being packed, each sail is designed by our technicians in its original dimensions; this ensures optimum canvas packing according to the width of the reels. Despite the internal quality control, however, the canvas may become creased due to compression or winding.
Waves: in addition to creases, waves may form along the seams of the strips of canvas or on the sides of the sail, which may worsen as the posts are tensioned or as water pockets form.
Irregularities: the canvas used to make Velombra sails is a premium quality canvas that may feature minor irregularities (e.g. knots in the thread, colour irregularities); these have no bearing on its use or value.
Colour: the fading of the canvas colour or the flaking of the chemical composition of the material, even if caused by uV rays, changes in the canvas such as colour shading or minor irregularities may be generated during routine production and correspond to the current state of the art. The same canvas colour may vary between production batches. The warranty does not cover canvas stains caused by dust, insects, leaves, pollution etc., while any stains formed during sail awning production are covered.
sail DiMensiOns
Sail dimensions may vary after assembly: the real surface may reduce by up to 20% from the fastening points due to the fastening components and to the fact that the sail is partly wound around the wind-up device shaft, in order to be tensioned correctly. It must be stressed that if the sail is positioned against the perimeter wall of a construction, depending on the model, shape, dimensions, packing and opening of the sail, a gap will open up between the sail and the wall. The sail should extend equally over both sides in order to work correctly. If for technical reasons or if requested by the end user a sail is designed with different extensions, winding the rope may produce marks on the canvas that may over time lead to accelerated sail wear. This type of wear is not covered by the product warranty.

WOOD WaRNING: It is good to remember that any kind of wood type placed outside, and directly exposed to weather elements, may look "lived" even after a relatively short period of time. This manifests itself mainly with:
• discoloration of the surface (the degradation varies depending on the moisture content to which the wood is subject)
• with the irregularity of the surface due to cyclic phenomena of swelling and shrinkage and possible mechanical wear of the surface.
Since wood is a natural material, there are differences in color and grain and therefore all elements are different. Furthermore, depending on the viewing angle the aspect is quite different because of the iridescent nature of the material. The samples and photographic reproductions are thus regarded as indicative and not binding.
The detachment of a slat from the beams is considered a defect.
The wood is placed under a protective treatment performed in autoclaving which allows a better resistance to attack by fungus and mold. This treatment is green (due to the salts used for impregnation), and is performed before painting the beams. The appearance of green stripes on the wood as a result of leaching of the paint finish by bad weather is normal in case of bright colors. In this case you must proceed with the maintenance as indicated in the manual.
The beams may present vertical stripes of different shades. This is normal and is due to stacking that occurs inside the autoclave during the impregnation treatment (the beams are spaced apart by transverse beams).
The presence of resin is a characteristic of coniferous wood.
a dimensional variation of wood products after exposure to moisture is normal. The reference humidity for the measuring is 12% (defined in the uNI EN390: 1997).
FlOORsThe floor may dent in collisions or falling objects and the implementation of concentrated loads on a small area, such as chairs with wheels, high heels and ladders is not suitable.
The floor can scratch as a result of contact with small objects such as nails or stones present beneath the soles of shoes.
at the time of delivery, the floor may be different from that of the samples after exposure to light which causes a change in the wood color.
MOtORsElectrical system: it must be performed by a licensed electrician who shall issue a certificate of conformity of the electrical system.
The system has to have an appropriate degree of protection being installed outside. a licensed electrician is able to properly size the system and choose the right components (adequate IP protection).
any voltage drop or radio interference may result in loss of the limit switches of the engines. In this case it is necessary to proceed with a new programming as indicated in the Manual.

stainless steel
The 304 stainless steel components require no maintenance aside from regular cleaning and protection with the “Corradi Shinysteel” cleaning kit provided.
aISI 304 austenitic stainless steel. The steel used is subjected to pickling, electropolishing and passivation with high-pressure intermediate washes, which guarantee the high corrosion resistance essential for withstanding prolonged exposure to atmospheric agents.
The essential properties of aISI 304 stainless steel are as follows: - excellent corrosion resistance: resistance to oxides, even in alkaline, saline and acidic environments; ease of cleaning
and excellent hygiene coefficient;- excellent surface aspect: specularity and sheen of treated surfaces, reduction of roughness, removal of surface
impurities with consequent heightening of natural shine of stainless.
Velombra subjects the steel to electropolishing, an electrochemical procedure aiming to improve the surface of the material by removing the peaks and troughs of its irregularities, making it smoother, shinier, more appealing and decorative and increasingly its reflectiveness.
a smoother surface has the advantage of increasing corrosion resistance, offering less possibility of retention for contaminating particles and it is also easier to clean and maintain. With this treatment, impure surface layers are removed, the surface compacted, becoming metallically pure and polished, and developing antibacterial and antiseptic properties. This treatment gives a bright, glossy and polished aspect to the surface of stainless steel parts.
It is a treatment that heightens both the aesthetic appeal and the hygiene of machined pieces. Electropolishing enhances the surfaces of 304 series stainless steel in terms of brightness and shine, quality and finish of pieces. To complete the ideal cycle of stainless steel and to make the result obtained with electropolishing stable over time, passivation enables its natural transparent and highly adherent chromium oxide film, known as passive film, to be restored quickly and in a controlled way in order to act as a barrier to ensure corrosion resistance and lengthen the lifespan of the piece.
The resistance of the 304 steel used in Velombra sail awnings is confirmed by COSMOB (Italian Research and Certification Body) via cupro-acetic salt spray testing. The appearance of micro-oxidation, most frequently in maritime environments characterized by salt spray, does not affect the quality and durability of the product such oxidations are believed to be normal. Should you wish to remove the rust spots, use a scouring pad or metal bristle brush, both of which must be used solely following the grain of the satin finish (stainless steel). The protective film of chromium oxide (autopassivation) will reset in a natural way with the only exposure to air, without any intervention by the user.
alUMiniUM The presence of marks and scratches is considered a fault only if these are visible at a distance of 2 meters. If the signs and/or dents are visible at a distance of 2 meters these are to be considered a defect.
aluminum is used for the wrapper and is alloy 6082 T6 or 6060 T5 and has been subjected to anodic oxidation treatment color "silver" or "silver", which guarantee a high resistance to corrosion, quality essential for withstand prolonged exposure to the elements.Do not use acid to clean the painted aluminum, but only mild soap and water.
