TheSmartLineRemoteControl(SLRC)systemsavestimeandenergy.Forstarters,SLRCeliminateswalkingbackandforthtothecontrollertostartandstopmanualoperation.ItalsoprovidesforaremotestartofanywateringprograminthecontrollerandallowsforremoteactivationofthepatentedSmartLineValveLocatorfeature.SLRCsavestimeandextramanpowerformaintenanceandrepairwork,simplifieswinterization,andallowsforquickvalvelocation.
SLRCprovidestwoconnectionmodesforultimateflexibility.AnumericcontractorcodecanbesetintheSmartLinecontroller(01-99),allowingasingleremotetooperateanynumberofunitsbysimplysettingthesamecodeintheSLRC-HHhandheldremote.Asecondoptionisto“Join”theSLRC-HHhandheldremotetoasinglecontroller.ThismodeistypicallyforpropertyownerswhowillonlyusetheremoteonasingleSmartLinecontroller.

Option1:InstallingtheSLHUB-RF
• OpenthecontrolpaneloftheSmartLineSL1600orthemainpaneloftheSL4800.TheconnectorlocationfortheSLHUB-RFislocatedintheupperright-handcorner.CarefullyinserttheSLHUB-RFintotheconnectorterminal.TheSLHUB-RFantennashouldbehangingdowninsidethecontroller.UsetheprovidedmachinescrewtosecuretheSLHUB-RFtothecontrollerhousing.
• OntheSL800,theSLHUB-RFisinstalledinthebackofthehousingbeforethecontrollerismounted.Removeanddiscardthecompartmentcoveronthebackofthecontroller.InstalltheSLHUB-RFasdescribedabove.Theantennawillhangdownbeneaththecontroller.

• TheSLRC-LINKcableisdesignedtominimizethepossibleeffectsofelectricalnoise.Splicingorextendingthecablemayresultinremotemalfunction.
• RoutetheSLRC-LINKcablefromtheoutdoorstothecontroller.Thecablecanberoutedintheconduitwiththevalvewiringforconvenienceoritmaybeplacedseparately.Whenroutingwiththevalvewiring,insertateeanda¾”slipelbowinthevalvewiringconduit.Theelbowopeningshouldbeaminimumof1-footabovegroundlevel.
• InserttheRJ11intotheteeandroutetothecontrollerlocation.
• Insertthe¾”slipSLRC-LINKcapintothetee.ThecapwillprotecttheRJ11portinthecap,butitisnotwaterproof.
• Routethecableintothecontrollereitherthroughthevalvewiringconduitoraseparateknockout.

• MounttheSLRC-ADAPTERinaconvenientwalllocationbesidethecontrollerusingthetwoprovidedmountingscrews.Makesurethelocationchosenallowsforroutingthe2-footcabletotheRJ11portintheSmartLinecontroller.TheSLRC-ADAPTERcablemaybeextendedusingtheSLRC-LINK.DonotspliceorextendthecablebeyondthecablelengthsuppliedwiththeSLRC-LINK.
• RoutetheRJ11cablethroughanyaccessholeonthebottomofthecontrollerforSL1600orSL4800installation.TheRJ11portontheSL800islocatedontheleftexteriorofthehousing.

1.8 Information About RangeManyclaimsaremadeabouttherangeofvariouswirelessremotecontrolsystems(irrigation,autoalarms,garagedoors,etc).ThepublishedrangefortheSLRCSystemis1000feetline-of-sight,whichmeansnoobstructionsbetweenthetransmitterandthereceiver.
