Where people and computing connect
INFORMATICS
C O M P U T I N G
Informatics and Computing is about building not
only strong technical skills, but also understanding
how we use technology to communicate, work,
heal and play. As a student at the School of
Informatics and Computing, you’ll put that
knowledge to use to develop groundbreaking
Information Technology (IT) solutions with real-
world value in business, healthcare, science, art,
entertainment and law such as:
• Developing apps for mobile devices
• Building a security system to protect
patient data
• Accelerating drug discovery and
personalized medicine
• Creating 3D animated films, video games
and documentaries
• Exploring human interactions with computers,
mobile devices and so much more
Informatics and Computing is a way to make a difference.
Our focus is on the social impact of computing—
how people and technology connect. If you’re
fascinated by computing and information
technology, have a strong imagination and like
solving problems, an informatics education opens
up a world of career possibilities that go far beyond
technical computing and programming skills.
WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?THERE’S A SCHOOL FOR THAT.
Informatics is smart
computing.
