History
• Spain originally inhabited by clets,lberians,and basques they became a part of the roman empire in 206 B.C.
• Aragon and castlile were the most important Spanish states from the 12th to the 15th century consolidated by the marriage of Ferdinand the 3and Isabella the first in 1469.

• The latitude and longitude of Spain is 40.43 degrees north and 3.7 degrees west.

Spain Animals
• The Mediterranean or Iberian lynx is almost extinct, there are only a few surviving mammals left in the south of Spain and Portugal. The lynx is the most endangered cat in the world.
• Other protected animals are the Iberian wild boar, the Iberian fox, the Iberian wolves and the Cantabrian brown bear.
• The short-toed eagle is Spain's national bird. The region of Andalusia is home to the Andalusian horses which are known for their speed and strength.

• Emigration of Spanish workers to the more industrialized countries of Western Europe, notably to the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG),
• More than 1.7 million Spanish citizens were residing outside the country in 1987. In 2001 there were 1,109,060 foreign residents in Spain, 2.5% of total population. There were 234,937 Moroccans, 84,699 Ecuadorians, 80,183 British, 62,506 Germans, 48,710 Colombians, 44,798 French, and 42,634 Portuguese.
