Forms of directed response cues are artificial
and close to imitation
e.g. Beginner level

Response would be simply a repetition of the
last part of the examiner

Can be used with young children and with
young people or adults who have limited

This technique provides good control
Students respond in same way so its easy to
make comparison
Test of this kind normally easy to prepare
Limitations
This technique cannot be used with young
children who haven't learn to read and with
advanced young people and adult.
