LOOK at the word – think about its shape! SAY the word – how is it pronounced? Say the letters out loud too! Break it into smaller sections, eg: Wed-nes-day.

COVER the word – can you remember its shape, the letters and the parts you broke it into? WRITE the word – will you get it right? CHECK the word – can you write it correctly? Once you’ve finished, correct any mistakes.
