What You Get…
Competitive Cooking encourages participants to:
» Delegate individual responsibility while maintaining collectiveaccountability
» Contribute to the team innovation process
» Effectively build consensus
» Gain project management experience
» Better collaborate while recognizing individual contributionsto group success
» Foster trusting relationships
The Competitive Cooking experience is based on the popular Food
Network television show Iron Chef. The timed Competitive Cooking
experience will help illuminate individual leadership preferences
and potential blind spots. As the experience unfolds the team must
direct its focus, share information, communicate effectively and work
collaboratively to achieve success. Instructed to prepare and plate meals
for a pre-selected number of diners, teams will have the opportunity to
sample each other’s creations. Following the meal, our facilitators will
guide a discussion around contribution and performance.
How It Works...
Teams will be challenged to plan and prepare a three-course meal. They
will be equally equipped with utensils, advice and ingredients—whichwill be provided in their raw form. A secret ingredient must also be
incorporated into each course.
Scores will reflect the team’s response to certain criteria including use
of ingredients, creativity of presentation, taste and sanitation, and
preparation time. The teams will each have their own Sous Chef to turn
to for advice. The Sous Chefs will observe, coach, and serve as final
judges.

Digital Storytelling encourages participants to:
» Practice leadership skills» Contribute to the team innovation process
» Effectively build consensus
» Gain project management experience
» Better collaborate in a team environment
» Recognize individual contributions
Since the beginning of human history, storytelling has been the primary
means for passing along culture from one generation to the next. In this
team-based program, participants create digital stories—essentially short
movies—designed to help clarify and communicate key insights about
what it takes to make successful contributions to your organization.
How It Works…
We start by dividing participants into production teams. Team members
then take on self-assigned functional roles—directors, screenwriters,
actors, tech crew—and divide into short skill-based workshops. Directors
learn about directing, writers about writing, actors about acting, and
so on. Afterward, each production team reconvenes with an assigned
challenge—create a 60-second digital story that emphasizes theattributes vital to high performing teams.
Teams will move through the various stages of production, from hashing
out the messaging to reaching consensus on a narrative approach,
to the scripting, staging, and the filming of scenes. In doing so, each
team will draw on the disparate talents and recently learned skills of
each individual. Upon completion, each team’s raw footage will be
professionally edited and prepared for the premiere—an Academy
Awards-style event designed to highlight individual and group
achievements.

The Amazing Intelligence Race encourages participants to:
» Build and reinforce leadership skills» Practice collaborative problem-solving
» Engage in strategic planning
» Enhance effective communication skills
» Increase awareness of Multiple Intelligences
» Engender innovative thinking
» Increase the sense of belonging, identity and relationshipequity
It’s not ”Are You Smart?” It’s ”How Are You Smart?” Book smarts.
Street smarts. Emotional smarts. A way with language or with math. We
all possess different kinds of intelligences (research suggests there are
as many as eight unique types) that give us different problem-solving
strengths. Highly successful teams tend to contain a broad distribution of
intelligences. With this in mind, we’ve created The Amazing Intelligence
Race, a half-day, team-based challenge designed to explore how
individuals are smart in different ways and how it takes more than a few
kinds of intelligence to build an effective team.
How It Works…
We start by equipping teams with backpacks full of resources and a clue
packet. The clues encourage teams to move through a series of fun andexperiential challenges, each in a new location and each requiring the
use of one or more of the resources included in the backpack. In doing
so, teams are forced to draw on all eight distinct types of intelligence,
requiring different team members to assume leadership roles as the
challenges evolve and different skill-sets come into play.
Afterward, our facilitators lead teams through a reflective debriefing
session. A post-race reception follows, where participants can continue
to talk informally, sharing stories and exchanging information learned
during the experience.

» Accept personal responsibility for playing their role while alsofeeling a sense of accountability towards the overall mission
» Experience the impact of change

» Feel the power of community
Can you feel the beat? Group drumming is a powerful platform for
communication and a particularly good opening experience or closing
celebration for any size meeting. Vision, Leadership, Collaboration, Team
Effectiveness, Change Management, Innovation, Creativity, Diversity, and
Community; all are aspects of organizational climate, culture and team
performance. Rhythm Jam helps identify and develop learning objectives
in an engaging and dramatic format. Choosing from a collection of easy-
to-play instruments, participants are able to transform themselves from
a scattered array of individual noise-makers to a powerful and cohesive
musical force.
How It Works…
Under the guidance of our world-renown Rhythm Jam facilitator, everyone starts with something simple to play, progressing to additional
instruments requiring escalating levels of skill and coordination. At
the same time, the music evolves from simple beats to a dynamic
and sophisticated group effort, culminating with a jam session that
encourages participants to use their collective creativity, carrying the
rhythm forward in new, and innovative directions.

Alpha Beta encourages participants to:
» Think about how their behavior contributes toorganizational culture
» Increase their awareness of cultural dynamics and diversity
» Identify behaviors that support an intentional culture
» Understand the link between decision-making practicesand values-based behaviors
The Alpha Beta experience is a structured simulation, designed to allow
participants the chance to explore organizational culture. During the
activity, your workforce will better understand how individual decisions
contribute to the attitudes and beliefs of one’s underlying culture.
How It Works…Alpha Beta is a simulated experience, originally designed for Peace
Corps training and now adapted for corporate audiences. We begin
by dividing participants into two distinct teams, each with its own set
of values and customs. Our facilitators then guide participants through
a series of exchange exercises structured to allow members from each
team to begin to understand the practices of the other. To strengthen
learning, we embed your organization’s unique corporate values, language and operating principles into the cultural exchange.
Participants will be exposed to the complex emotions, anxieties and
misperceptions common in cross-cultural interactions. The result is a
guided learning experience that provides a platform for individuals to
recognize the powerful role they can play in shaping and supporting a
desired culture.

Common Cubism encourages participants to:
» Practice collaboration skills» Gain project management experience
» Listen to each other
» Delegate individual responsibility while maintaining collectiveaccountability
» Foster trusting relationships
» Practice how they work with colleagues through an atypicalexperience
Cubism was perhaps the most influential visual art style of the early
twentieth century. Created by Pablo Picasso, the concept of cubism
rejects the idea that art should copy nature. Instead, cubists dissected
the objects of their art into smaller pieces and reassembled them from
different vantage points. With Common Cubism, we divide a single
image into small facets for groups to interpret, and then reassemble the
pieces to create an entirely new piece of collaborative art. The process
captures individual contributions, which give way to the collective
impression.
How It Works…
Small groups of participants will be given the opportunity to interpret
and create their own multimedia piece. We distribute paint chips with2”x 2” images that teams will have to scale to cover a proportionately
larger canvas. Colors can change, but placement of important lines must
stay the same.
Groups will be given all necessary materials and time to discuss their
approach and roles, as well as sketch and create their image. This is a
team-based process. We customize the focus of the debrief to the needs
of your people. The final touch is in the reveal. We collect all the pieces
and assemble them to disclose the masterpiece—a visual representation
of a collaborative effort.

Project Real encourages participants to:
» Develop a real way to contribute to your organization» Delegate individual responsibility while maintaining
collective accountability
» Contribute to the team innovation process
» Effectively build consensus
» Gain project management experience
» Better collaborate while recognizing individualcontributions to group success
» Foster relationships
In business, when a project gets “the green light” that means it is a
“go.” Getting the green light, however, requires overcoming multiple
barriers—the first usually being the project pitch. Project Real allows your
people to experience an authentic team-based pitch approach. As the
experience unfolds, the team must direct its focus, share information,
communicate effectively and work collaboratively to develop a judge-
ready pitch.
How It Works…
Pitch teams will be challenged to create a pitch for a chance to produce
the solution for a real need in your organization. They will be equipped
with a mock budget, expertise and professional advice. Team members
take on self-assigned functional roles—producers, project managers, creative directors, talent—and divide into short skill-based workshops.
Producers learn about producing, project managers about managing
the project, creative directors about creating an engaging storyline, and
talent about live presentation.
After the skill workshops, teams reconvene with an assigned challenge:
to produce the winning pitch. Teams will present their pitch to
handpicked judges from your organization. The pitches can be recorded
for playback the following day.

What You Get…
Team Serve encourages participants to:
» Think about the impact of the individual» Increase awareness of the communities the
organization visits
» Network across the organization
» Build trust within teams
» Share a common experience and emotional connection
» Take on a different role
» Roll up their sleeves and work to benefit people in need
Team Serve is an organized philanthropic experience designed to bring
your people together by helping those in need. Participants will work on
small project teams, where they will be able to see and feel the impact
of their contributions both immediately, and over time. Nothing brings a
group together like putting someone else’s needs first.
How It Works…
The Team Serve experience provides groups with the opportunity to give
back by partnering with local service organizations. Before the event, we
identify needed improvement projects such as painting, construction,
landscaping, cleaning, etc. At the event, we divide participants into
small project teams, each with its own assignment, background
information, tools and supplies. Our facilitators brief the teams then setthem to work. During the project, teams have the chance to engage in
conversation, getting to know each other and building trust throughout
the experience.
Our video crew will capture the team experience as well as the emotional
response of the beneficiaries. The result is a chance to relive the
experience through the recipient’s perspectives, making it even more
powerful for each participant.

» Learn the technique of creative problem solving
» Participate in a fun and engaging learning experience
Want a completely original teambuilding event? Something that’s never
been done before? Something that is as unique as your people and your
business? Then you may want to consider our “from scratch” program.
How It Works…
From scratch is a fully-facilitated and supported design process thatallows your event team to design your very own, unique, teambuilding
program. We use a four-step design process, beginning with clarification.
Who is the program for? How many people? What do you want them to
learn and experience?
We follow clarification with structured ideation. Research into innovation
clearly shows that the way to have a great idea is to have a lot of ideas.
We make sure this happens in a fun and engaging way.
We work with you to identify and develop the best ideas, and then help
create an implementation plan. Our team will work with you every step of
the way, and can help produce and deliver the event.
