Saint Faustina wasborn in the 20th century,and canonized in theyear 2000.
Jesus said toFaustina, "Today I amsending you with mymercy to the people ofthe whole world."
On February 22, 1931,Jesus appeared toFaustina as the King ofDivine Mercy.
He asked her to havea picture painted of himas she saw him — clothedin white, with red andwhite rays of lightstreaming from his heart.
The rays represent theblood and water thatflowed from the side ofJesus on the cross. Underthe image are the words,"Jesus, I trust in you.“
Faustina wascanonized by the firstPolish pope, John PaulII, on April 30, 2000.
The first Sundayafter Easter was declaredDivine Mercy Sunday.
