“He said, “To what shall we compare the kingdom of God…? It
is like a mustard seed that, when it is sown in the ground, is the
smallest of the seeds on the earth. But once it is sown, it springs
up and becomes the largest of plants and puts forth large
branches, so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade.”
Mark 4:30-32
Stewardship teaches us that no matter how insignificant we may
seem to ourselves, we can produce great things when we use the gifts
that God has given us.
Doughnut Sunday June 24th 10:00am
Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Ez 17:22-24; Ps 92:2-3, 13-14, 15-16; 2 Cor 5:6-10; Mk 4:26-34
To proclaim your kindness at dawn and your faithfulness
throughout the night Psalm 92:3
“Always raise the blinds with reverent anticipation,” Stella Marie
told me. Given this household chore when she was six, Stella, now
80 years old, reminds other people what her mother told her. “God
has been up all night custom planning the next 24 hours,” she said
with a wink and smile, “so even as rain pours, fog hangs heavy, or
sun shines, proclaim God’s kindness at dawn.”
“When you go to bed at night, close the blinds with gratitude.
Angels watch over you and God blesses your day of living in the
moment, trusting in divine care each minute and desiring to see
Him everywhere. The day may have been hard, but you were, by
grace, steadfast until bedtime. So sleep well and proclaim His
faithfulness in the night.”
Vibrant Stella Marie offered me a concrete way to remember
today’s psalm bidding: proclaiming God’s kindness at dawn and
divine faithfulness at night—a blessed way to live in hope and
thanksgiving!

Marriage Moment
Summer officially begins June 21. Traditionally this is a time of rest and vacations. Have you planned a get-away for just
the two of you? Even if you can’t take a “real” vacation, fantasize together about a dream vacation either at home or
away. A staycation counts.
Parenting Pointer
“Our Father, who art in heaven…” Note that we say “Our” Father not “My” Father since God is Father to all the children
of the earth. Yes, remember your own father on June 17, but also remember those children whose father is absent,
unemployed, deployed in a foreign land, abusive, or in some other way not present. Can you be like a father to
someone who needs you?

Dear Parishioners, Why are we changing our
Sunday 11:30am Mass to 11:00am?
One half hour earlier will help families to come to Mass which is central to our faith life. They will be able to more easily attend family
functions, sports events and recreation.

Specialized Volunteer Needed Donated appliances generate good income for our St. Vincent de Paul store that benefit the poor this area.
We need to be sure they operate before accepting the donation. We need someone who has some knowledge of appliances that can check out the donated items, perform simple
repairs if needed or tell us that it is not worth repairing so we can take it to the dump or metal recycling. This ministry could be done at your convenience. Contact Kim Hovious [email protected], call 348-3126 or text 270-307-1735

Do you follow us on Facebook? If you do, then you would have seen that UK Men’s Basketball Coach John Calipari
visited our Church on June 4!
John Calipari is at Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral.
Our satellite camp in Bardstown was outstanding as usual and it gave me a
chance to visit one of the great cathedrals in the country– Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral— and go through my
prayer list. The first mass was held here is 1819!
People of faith are committed to serving
others in God’s love in healthcare, child

education, and more. Religious freedom
protects the space in which we can continue
to serve. Religious Freedom Week begins
June 22, the Feast of Sts. Thomas More &
John Fisher. Join Catholics across the country
to pray and act for the freedom to serve
faithfully and with integrity.
