Who is St. Lorenzo Ruiz?
Come and learn about our
Patron Saint this coming
weekend, October 25-27!
Bring your friends, family & neighbors for a fun filled weekend! Various activities & celebrations will be held from Friday, October 25 until Sunday, October 27! Details are on the back page of this bulletin issue!
PERSISTENCE Today's readings are about persistence, passionate persistence. Exodus tells of a battle won despite weariness because Moses, with help from Aaron and Hur, held his hands raised. Timothy asks that same persistence of his community and us. Luke tells of a court case won by a widow, despite the dishonesty of the judge, because she will not leave him alone. The psalm reminds us that God is everywhere, guarding us from harm day and night, coming and going, now and forever. The readings are about persistence, the relentless, unwavering pursuit of what must not be lost. The readings are about God's passionate persistence in pursuing us, seeking to win our hearts. For World Mission Sunday... Be Baptized and Sent—on Mission in the World! Today, World Mission Sunday, in this Extraordinary Missionary Month, we are called to personal encounter with Jesus Christ alive in the Church, and to offer, through this Eucharistic celebration, our prayers and our generous financial support, through the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, to continue the mission of Jesus. Today we are “sent” out to witness to Mission in the world through our prayers and personal sacrifices for our brothers and sisters around the world. As little as… -> $25 helps support a catechist for a month in remote Latin America -> $75 provides for the work of religious Sisters caring for orphaned children in Africa -> $100 assists poor children in boarding schools in Asia As always, your prayers are your most treasured gift to the Missions. Your prayers and financial help, offered today, WORLD MISSION SUNDAY, support mission priests, religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay catechists who are Christ’s witnesses to a world so in need of His healing, love, and peace.
TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY. We celebrate this day by remembering our baptismal call - to bring the Gospel to all! The collection today for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith ensures the work and service of the Mission Church, as it supports priests, religious and lay leaders who offer the Lord’s mercy and concrete help to the most vulnerable communities in the Pope’s mis-sions. Thank you for your generosity.

Welcome Home!
Grace is what God gives to us. It includes our life, our family, our health, our relationship with Him and with others. Grace is God’s life with us. God is ‘graceful’. In a deeper sense, who we are and what we have are God’s blessings to us. Let us be a GRACE to each one. St. Lorenzo Ruiz Catholic Parish Community is revisiting our campaign to make us aware of our Sunday giving which is an expression of gratitude for everything God has graced us with. After reflecting on the graciousness of God towards us, we are being called to establish a covenant commitment to the weekly Sunday collection. Respond as the widow in Mark 12:43-45, who gave not just because there was a need, but because she felt a need to give back to God for all He had given to her. ‘GRACE Ambassadors’ will get in touch with you!

Remembering Marie Marie Leanos passed away on March 5, 2019 in Waco, Texas, after a year-long struggle with
pancreatic cancer. Marie was our parish receptionist, secretary, bookkeeper, and

retirement, in 2007. Her youngest son, Louie, invites all who
remember her to join him at a Memorial Mass for his mother on
