German Christmas trees are very
beautiful. They were decorated with apples,
paper roses, and wafers in different
shapes. Most decorations were
symbols of new-born Christ.
Back
The Story of the post office in Christkindl is that a man was sick and came here. He carved a
figure of Jesus in a tree and prayed to it. Then he wasn’t sick anymore, so it became a famous
story. This is where the post office is now.
Back
Traditional mealtimes often involve a lot of early preparation in the weeks prior to
Weihnachten. Special meats or fish(especially Karpfen), baked breads, fancy cakes, baked
apples, and special cookies are generally made. Drinks include beer, wine, and mulled
cider.
