Did You Know?
If you took catechism classes growing up you probably learned a little about grace. There are two kinds of grace, Actual grace which is a supernatural push to get our will moving so we can seek sanctifying grace. Sanctifying grace stays in our souls when we die. This graces allows us to share in divine life and helps us stay in friendship with God. Without the state of grace, we cannot enter Heaven. Sanctifying grace is a gift of God and like any gift, it can be lost. If we commit mortal sin it literally kills our relationship with God.
So how do we receive the power to stay in the state of grace? We experience sanctifying grace and it is sustained by receiving the sacraments, performing works of mercy and maintaining a life of prayer.
