Dear Parishioners,
This week all priests and laity are asked to be in solidarity with the United Stated Conference of Catholic Bishops by joining them in prayer and penance during their Plenary Assembly this
week (November 12-14) in Baltimore. This assembly is an annual meeting of the bishops of our country where they discuss important issues in the American Church and in the Church at
large. A primary topic on this year’s agenda is the issue of clergy sexual abuse in the American Church. The Plenary Assembly begins tomorrow, and in an effort to once again reach out pasto-rally to the faithful of our diocese and to remind us of the good work that has been done in the
Diocese of Portland in regards to the protection of children, Bishop Deeley has written the at-tached letter for your review. Please keep Bishop Deeley and all the bishops in prayer this week.
Should you choose to make an act of penance/sacrifice, please offer it for a successful assembly and positive action towards further eliminating clergy sexual abuse in the Church.
With prayers for your holiness and God’s abundant blessings,
Fr. Philip Clement

Friends of the Fisherman Guild
Please prayerfully consider whether you would like to be
part of the formation process of the Guild. We are looking
for committed individuals who would like to be on the
officer committee to help organize and plan parish activities
and events. If that isn’t your calling, perhaps you’d be will-
ing to commit to being hands of help for the Guild. Stay
tuned for more information about the first general planning
meeting. Involvement must be from all 4 churches.
Collection Counters
Needed
We need volunteers to help count the weekly
offertory collections. It requires a minimal
commitment of time, and you will be in-
structed in the process. Depending on how many volun-
teers we have, it should only require one or two weekends
per month of your time. If you are interested, please see
Fr. Philip after Mass. Thank you.
