Problem No. 1. Do boys and girls differ in their performance in English? (Assume the distribution is not normally distributed.)
1. Ho: There is no significant difference between the performance of boys and girls in English.H0 : X1 = X2
Ha: There is significant difference between the performance of boys and girls in English.Ha : X1 ≠ X2
2. Level of significance: 0.05
3. Test : T-test for two independent samples
4. Compute P-value: p = .719
5. Statistical Decision: Since the computed significant value was 0.719, which is greater than critical value at 0.05 level of significance with 28.96 degrees of freedom, then the null hypothesis was accepted.
6. Conclusion: There was no significant difference between the performance of boys and girls in English. Result shows that boys and girls have no difference in performance in English.
