Submission of User Reports is required within 60 days after completion of the projects.
~ 500 User Reports have been published in the HPCI Portal Site since the start of HPCI shared use in September 2012.

A User Report consists of outcome (several pages) and resume (one page).
Example of resume
Number of downloads (DLs) of User Reports (15/7/2014~31/3/2016):20,703 (excluding crawlers*)
*Program to collect the documents and images by automatically patrol the Web. The collected data is stored in a database, which is used for the search service.
Download Analysis of User Reports
Number of DLs of FY2012 and FY2013 User Reports also increased, accompanied with the start of publication of FY2014 User Reports.

Download Analysis of User Reports (cont’d)
Number of DLs by Project Categories That of the K Industrial Use is the largest. Subsequently those of the K General
Use, the HPCI other than K General Use and the Strategic Programs follow. Number of DLs per project for the K Industrial Use also excels the other categories. Projects of the K Industrial Use and the K Industrial Trial Use are dominant in the
Top 20 of DLs.

Download Analysis of User Reports (cont’d) Classification of organizations downloading
Downloaded from wide range of society, including press, public service and medical service.
Numbers of organizations downloading exceed those participating in HPCI.
Downloads from oversea cover 42 countries.
North America (the United States, Canada, Mexico), Central America (Brazil), Europe (21 countries; the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey), Russia, Asia (14 countries; China, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, India, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia) , Africa (Algeria), Oceania (Australia) 6
Dissemination of industrial use outcomes Industry sectors of companies participating in HPCI and/or downloading User
Reports are classified by 33 sectors of the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
as of 31/3/2016
Number of sectors participating in HPCI: 15 (45% of 33 sectors) ⇔ Those downloading User Reports: 27 (82% of 33 sectors) → indicating wide spread of interest to the HPCI research outcomes in the industry 7
Dissemination of industrial use outcomes (cont’d)
8
User Reports of sectors participating in HPCI (15 sectors, red circles) are downloaded by many other sectors. For example, in the
case of chemicals, downloaded by 18 sectors.
Referred also from non-participating sectors (12 sectors, blue circles).
Down-loading sector
Down-loaded sector
Cross-reference of User Reports between sectors participating in HPCI (15 sectors) is quite dense.
Thickness of arrows shows number of companies involved. Thick arrow: >=20 companies Middle-thick arrow: 10~19 companies Thin arrow: 1~9 companies
Matching between needs and seeds
Good correlation between number of DLs of User Reports and number of awarded projects with respect to the research areas.
Relationships between needs and seeds are nearly balanced among the research areas

HPCI Publication Database Publication informations of research achievements with the use of the
HPCI system are summarized in an integrated manner. It is encouraged to register research achievements as soon as they are
published during or after implementation of the projects.
