5 Year Port Development Plan – Our Focus
! Maintain & improve the efficiency of existing infrastructure for Port users
and provide the capability for new port developments.

or additional capacity on existing sites.

Outer Harbour dredging & land reclamation works would be subject to demand. A container
terminal within the next 5 years is unlikely as capacity exists at Port Botany.

! A true 24 / 7 supply chain across all areas
! High Produc3vity Vehicles (HPV’s) able to access the
port and intermodals.
! Construc3on of the WestConnex project connected to
Port Botany.
! Future proofing of Foreshore Rd (main Port access Rd)
! NSW Ports is investigating options for
handling 3 million TEUs by rail at the Port
(Future 40% rail mode share)
! Operational improvements are needed
! The current Port Botany infrastructure can
cope with upwards of 1.2M teu’s
