CMS Testbeam at Fermilab: Status and Planso Testbeam Setup Status

– Big pieces are now in place: telescope, Si, ROC, chiller, electronics, etc.– ORC paperwork remains to be done (no beam yet)– Some issues with cabling and power supplies to be cleand up– Much of the initial testing of Si, ROC still to be done (will need help)– Regularly updated to-do list at

http://rutpc7.fnal.gov/~worm/CMS_Pixel_Testbeam.htmlo Problems with the PSI43 in the testbeam

– At Rutgers “Data Challenge” we uncovered some problems with the PSI43

– Dongwook will discuss…o Testbeam Goals

– Finish setting up, do basic checkout of telescope, trigger, ROC– Primary goal of getting system up and reading out pixels we can still do!– More advanced goals include measuring hit efficiencies, looking for

broken bonds, bad channels, rotating and studying charge sharing, etc.

Pre-Setup Task List (3/15/04)Request plug-in boxes on either side of telescope table (one requested)Ask if extension cord power from Alcove is OK in ORC (gist: temporary OK, permanent not OK)Post instructions for how to get rad training, badges, controlled accessTest and finalize Rutgers DAQTest bruno's Si/chip/VHDI with Rutgers DAQGet fixtures for Bruno's cooling lines to run old cartridge (?)ORC document (and web link?)Get/setup thin trigger scintillators from MuzafferGet extension cords (have one now, ~25')Fix or correct the address decoding in double-hitsGet (4) +/-6V power supplies for Si strips, readout chip, and pixel

Get "Beam TV" signal and monitor in Alcove (requested)

Re-key the Alcove Control room for EXP29 (requested)

Setup Task ListGet Rad Worker, Controlled Access training (all) Bring Stepper Motor into Alcove and cable itKerberize RUDAQ computers in Alcove   Better connectors for Stepper Motor and low Voltage supplyMount trigger scintillators (Steve, Muzaffer) Strain relieve cables, shrinkwrap repeater card lines

Check second output of CNR 6B scintillator Install test PSI43 (Dongwook, Eric)

Drill holes in scope to mount small scintillator Align Bruno's new scintillator

Check second output of CNR 6B scintillator Install test PSI43 (Dongwook, Eric)Permission to put chiller between CNR6B and beamstop  Fix Si planes (Steve) Install and test Peltier cables and PS

Run DAQ in Alcove (John, D'wook, Eric)Get the flow rate of Nitrogen increased Work with Chuck/Erik to get first beam (Muzaffer, Steve)
