differentially back-filled (hillsides), fully
buried (with multi-use capabilities).
• Seismic Resilience — designed with an anchored
flexible base for enhanced ductility and
seismic performance.
• Durability — regardless of weather extremes,
proven reliability through extreme fire and
freeze thaw events.
• Prestressed Wall Compression — provides
longevity, durability and liquid tightness.
• Reinvesting in the Local Economy — use of
materials, labor and equipment from within
the community.
• Fire Suppression — tanks are custom designed
and constructed in accordance with the NFPA
Standard 22.

DN Tanks Understands the Challenges Associated with Construction of Fire Protection Storage Tanks, which are often in close
proximity to surrounding buildings and located at the heart of busy facilities. Our experience
constructing tanks across a wide array of industries and applications makes us uniquely
qualified to meet your fire protection
storage needs.
INDUSTRY LEADING EXPERIENCEDN TANKS is a specialty contractor focused exclusively on the design and construction of AWWA D110 prestressed concrete tanks. We have over
3,000 installations and over 90 years of experience designing and constructing tanks for fire protection water, wastewater, and thermal energy
storage.

FIRE PROTECTION BENEFITSNFPA 22 COMPLIANCE DN Tanks designs and constructs fire protection
tanks in accordance with the National Fire
Protection Association Standard 22 (NFPA 22)
and the AWWA D110 Standard.
SINGLE PARTY RESPONSIBILITY All aspects of tank design and construction,
inlcuding tank insulation and heating systems,
are performed by DN Tanks providing a turn-key
solution for your fire protection storage needs.
NO OUT OF SERVICE TIME The concrete interior of an AWWA D110 tank
elminates the need for protective coatings
and the downtime associated with periodic
coating maintenance. By elminating down time
for maintenance, a prestressed concrete tank
ensures your facility is continously protected with
reliable fire suppression storage.
FLEXIBILITY DN Tanks provides the ultimate flexibility in
siting and architectural enhancments to fit your
project. Our tanks can be constructed at-grade,
partially buried, or fully buried. Architectural
elements including painted logos, brick veneers,
EIFS systems, or other aesthetic enhancements
can be included to compliment nearby buildings
and structures.

ADVANTAGESUNPARALLELED DURABILITY & RELIABILITY Our unique design features provide unmatched
durability and service.
PRECAST WALL CONSTRUCTION The tank walls are horizontally precast in one
continuous concrete pour with no horizontal
joints. Each panel is inspected and tested before
it is incorporated into the structure. This provides
the highest degree of quality control by casting
on-site individual sections.
EMBEDDED STEEL DIAPHRAGM A continuous steel diaphragm acting as as water
barrier is permanently encased in concrete in the
finished tank wall. This provides assurance for
long-term reliability and elimination of leakage.
FLEXIBLE FLOOR WALL CONNECTIONS The tank is constructed so that the floor walls
are structurally independent. This allows the wall
to expand and contract without placing excessive
bending stressed on the wall or floor.
EXTERNAL WIRE-WOUND PRESTRESSING The tank walls are placed into compression by
circumferential prestressing. Every prestress
wire is fully encased in shotcrete to provide long
term corrosion protection. This ensures the tank
walls will remain in permanent compression,
eliminating shrinkage cracks, stress cracks,
seepage, and deterioration.
SPEED OF CONSTRUCTION The on-site precasting operation permits
simultaneous construction of the tank walls
and floor; resulting in a fast and efficient
tank construction process. With no need for
protective coatings, the construction time can be
further reduced by placing the tank into service
immediately upon completion.
LOCAL INVESTMENT The on-site construction process provides a
boost to the local economy by incorporating
local materials, labor, and equipment into every
project we construct.
