SubmittinganArticleStartanewsubmissionbyclickingtheNewSubmissionbuttonontherightsideofthescreen.YouwillbetakentoStep1ofa5-Stepprocesstouploadanddescribeyoursubmission.

Step1InStep1youwillprovidepreliminaryinformationaboutyoursubmission.

Tobeginselecttheappropriatesectionforyoursubmission(e.g.,article,review,etc.).Ifyouaren’tsurewhichsectionis appropriate,makeyourbestguess.

Readandagreetoall of thestatementsinthesubmissionchecklistbycheckingeachbox.Includeanycommentsfortheeditor, readthejournal’sprivacystatement,andthenclicktheSaveandContinuebuttontomovetoStep2.

OnStep2,awindowwillopenallowingyoutouploadyoursubmissionfile.

First,youMUSTselectanArticleComponent.Thisletsthesystemknowwhetherthefileisthebodyofthemanuscript,animage,adataset,etc.Thismustbeselectedbeforeyourfilewillupload.

Onceyou’vemadethatselection,youcanthenuploadyourfirstfile.Itisimportanttonotethatyoucanonlyuploadonefileatatime.Additionalfilescanbeuploadedlaterintheprocess.Typically,thisfirstfilewillbethebodyofyourmanuscript.HittheContinuebuttononcethefileuploads.

Afteruploadingthefile,youwillbeaskedtoreviewthenameofthefile.UsetheEditlinktomakeanychanges.

ClicktheContinuebutton.

Next,youhavetheoptiontorepeattheprocesstouploadadditionalfiles(e.g.,adatasetoranimage).

Onceyouhavefinisheduploadingallofyourfiles,clickComplete;thiswillclosetheuploadwindow.

YouwillbebroughtbacktotheSubmitanArticlescreenwhereyouwillseethefilesyou’veuploaded.Ifyouneedtomakechanges,expandthebluearrowtotheleftofyourfileandmakeanychangesusingtheEditlink.

Click‘SaveandContinue’tomovetoStep3.

Step3OnStep3,youwillbeaskedtoaddmoreinformationaboutthesubmission,includingthetitleofthesubmission(brokendownintoprefix,title,andsubtitle),theabstract,andscrollingdown...

HitSave,andthenewcontributorwillappearonthescreen.

Dependingonthejournalyouaresubmittingto,youmayseeadditionalfieldstocomplete,suchaskeywords.

Toenterkeyword,simplytypethewordorphraseandhityourEnterkey.Thewordorphrasewillbeformattedasakeyword.

ClickSaveandContinuetomoveforward.

Step4OnStep4,youwillbeaskedtoconfirmthatyouarehappywithyoursubmission.
