AtitsFebruary2016meeting,theCouncilonAcademicAccreditationinAudiologyandSpeech-LanguagePathology(CAA)approvedrevisionstostandardsasindicatedbelowforimplementationonAugust1,2017.Thefollowingisacomparisonoftherevisedstandardsastheyrelatetothecurrent2008Standards(lastrevisedJanuary2014)andabriefdescriptionofthechanges.FurthereditswereapprovedinJuly2017andalsoreflectedinthisdocument.TheCAArestructuredthestandardstoincludeaRequirementforReviewsection,formerlytheimplementationlanguage,whichprovidesinterpretationsorexplanationsofthestandard.ThestandardsalsoincludeDocumentationGuidancethatprovidessuggestionstoprogramsonhowtodocumentcompliance;however,theDocumentationGuidancewereextractedasaseparateresource.Forpurposesofcomparison,someofthe2008Standardsandimplementationlanguagearepresentedin[brackets]indicatingconceptsthathavebeenseparatedoutandpresentedinadifferent2017Standard.Someimplementationlanguagehasbeenremovedandreplacedwithellipses(…),tohighlighttheconceptscoveredinthecorresponding2017Standard.
