Using MIT App Inventor to Create Android AppsMIT App Inventor allows you to create mobile apps that run on Android phones and tablets using a visual programming language created by Google. Traditionally to build an Android app, you have to code in Java. With App Inventor, you can design the user interface and implement the program just by dragging and dropping elements and connecting them together like a puzzle! You will learn the basics of event-driven programming and build apps that uses the accelerometer, touch input, text-to-speech, location sensor, orientation sensor, and more. It is recommended that you bring your own Android device, although we will provide you with one in if you don’t have it. Instructor: WhizKidz Computer Center Staff

Sailing at Vasona- YouthCome out to beautiful Vasona Lake and take a sailing course on one of our Catalina Capri sailboats. You'll enjoy four hours on the water (two hours each day), and receive plenty of hands-on training, including open water sailing, docking, sailing terminology, boating safety, and much more. In this course, we use Catalina Capri 14-foot sailboats, which are very responsive, stable, and easy to sail. It's always best to learn the basics of sailing on a boat like the Capri because it is not intimidating and gives students a much better feel for the wind than a larger sailboat.Instructor: LGS Recreation Boating Staff
