SWOT Strengths  

Completing  eight  GCSE’S  all  between  grade  A*-­‐C.  

I  have  had  experience  working  in  the  fashion  industry  as  sale  assistance  in  three  different  types  of  environments.  A  concession  and  two  self-­‐owned  boutique.  During  my  time  here  I  have  learnt  skills  such  as  dealing  with  customer  transactions,  having  the  role  of  visual  merchandising  within  the  store,  tagging  and  

pricing  garments  and  booking  in  orders  to  the  system.  

I  also  have  buying  experience  and  the  ability  to  recognize  future  trends  as  well.  I  have  a  good  idea  of  what  will  sell  in  specific  target  markets  and  areas.  

During  the  last  year  I  have  been  attending  college  as  well  as  working  part  time  on  my  days  off,  because  of  this  I  have  learnt  how  to  manage  my  time  and  meet  the  right  medium  between  doing  my  college  work  and  

attending  work.  

During  my  time  on  the  course  I  have  studied  skills  such  as  web  design  strategy,  starting  a  small  business,  customer  service  and  Cad  work  to  name  just  a  few,  all  of  which  I  feel  will  be  extremely  relevant  for  the  future.  

 

Weaknesses  

I  am  not  an  overly  confident  person  and  do  not  always  feel  confident  standing  up  in  front  of  people  this  is  of  course  something  that  would  need  to  work  on  as  this  is  key  when  entering  the  fashion  industry.  

People  I  know  well  may  say  I  come  across  shy  and  quite,  I  am  not  very  outspoken  or  loud.  

I  struggle  with  English  language  and  spelling,  this  can  sometimes  affect  my  work.  

I  possible  could  look  for  more  experience  in  the  industry  to  greater  my  knowledge.  

 

Opportunities  

I  am  recently  in  contact  with  the  UK  Agent  of  two  high  class  brand,  Riani  and  Anne  Claire.  I  have  been  given  the  opportunity  to  attend  Scoop  London  with  her  in  February  as  well  as  shadow  her  daily  life  in  her  showroom.  

 I  also  am  going  to  attend  Pure  with  a  local  shoe  retailer  and  shadow  their  buying  patterns.    

There  are  also  a  lot  of  opportunities  online  that  I  could  apply  for  during  the  summer  to  get  some  extra  experience  in  a  different  areas  such  as  head  offices  ect,  this  would  all  help  build  up  my  personal  profile.  

 

Threats  

As  I  have  two  jobs  I  have  limited  time  to  gain  experience,  and  it  could  become  difficult  for  me  to  get  the  time  off  work  as  I  am  contracted  certain  hours.  

 I  am  in  the  North  West  it  is  a  small  area  and  for  me  to  carry  out  any  internships  I  would  need  to  travel  which  could  be  of  high  costs  as  I  am  only  on  a  small  salary.
