Section 2: Design DecisionsNature of Decisions taken
The design decisions involved in the creation of
this OER were of mainly three types:
1. Content related Decisions
2. Pedagogic (Teaching-learning) Decisions
3. Technology/ICT tools related Decisions
1. Content related DecisionsWhat is Internet of Things?
What are the application of Internet of things?
The material in terms of PPTs, References/
Bibliography including research papers for
understanding and further reading of a learner.
2. Pedagogic (Teaching-learning) DecisionsThis OER is prepared for Flipped Classroom
activity which necessitates in class as well as out
of the class activities.
An Out of the class segments are prepared using
PPTs and Video.
According to Bloom’s Taxonomy, understanding,
apply and recall level questions can be asked in
the class.
Team leader: Lipi Chhaya
Team members: Sanjay Patel & Ashish Patel

Think-Pair-Share activity is designed for In class
activity.
Peer Instruction activity is also designed for In
class activity.
Assessment strategy is based on active
participation.
3. Technology/ ICT tools related Decisions Screencast o matic is used for recording purpose.
Microsoft Powerpoint is used for preparation of
lecture slides.
WordPress is used for sharing of videos and PPTs.
Youtube is used to upload the videos.

How to use this OER?This OER can be used for Flipped classroom
activity.
Think-Pair-Share and Peer instruction activities
can be designed as In class activities. An example
activity is downloadable from website.
MOODLE Quiz is also provided.
Team leader: Lipi Chhaya

13
Best Practices
Assign 1-3 marks for Out of the class
activity.
For In class activities assign an incentive for
participation.
Ensure that students are familiarised with
the concept of IOT through Peer Instructions
and Think-Pair-Share activities.

Section 4: Evaluating Effectiveness of
OERThe OER effectiveness can be assessed at two
levels:
1. At the student level
2. At the consumer level
1. Effectiveness at the student level
An effectiveness at Student level can be accessed
on the basis of various In class and Out of the
class activities.
A response of the students can be taken as an
individual assignment in which they will be
submitting the answers of Out of Class
activity.
A Moodle Quiz can also be conducted as out
of class activity.
Active participation in the class can be
evaluated through Peer instruction or Think-
Pair-Share activities.
Team leader: Lipi Chhaya
Team members: Sanjay Patel & Ashish Patel

2. Effectiveness at consumer level
Consumers are the teachers who will use the
resources for teaching activity.
A survey can be conducted using Google form or
any other tool for assessing an effectiveness of
OER at consumer level.
