highlightsMichigan’s business climate has improved dramatically, going from 40th to a top-10 state for business.
Our overall business tax climate is ranked #12 in the nation. Thanks to eliminating the Michigan Business Tax and replacing it with a simple, fair corporate tax system, Michigan has gone from ranking 48th to 8th in terms of corporate tax rating among the states.
Michigan has always been a manufacturing leader, but during the Lost Decade we lost our way. Since making job creation a focus again in 2011, our state has ranked #1 nationally for creating new manufacturing jobs.
Detroit is the comeback city and on an accelerated path toward a brighter future. Through programs like the Detroit Promise Scholarship Program, the city of Detroit is making a commitment to its young people.
