Principal’s Update Week 11, Term 1 Believe it or not, this is the final newsletter for term 1. How did the term
flash by so quickly? Friday is the last day of term and students return on
Wednesday, 27th April. Our school office will be open on Tuesday, 26th
April.
Fruit Break Volunteer Urgently Needed
We are very lucky at PPS to have a fruit break funded and organised by
the P&C on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our students are always excited to
see the platter of fresh fruit and vegetables arrive in the classroom and it
is an excellent way for them to sample new tastes and ensure that they
have a healthy snack to keep them going through the day.
The P&C urgently needs a volunteer to work each Tuesday to ensure that
we can continue this valuable activity. If you are able to help for
approximately an hour each Tuesday morning, it would be very much
appreciated.
Tocal Volunteers Needed
The major P&C fundraising activity for this year is coming up very soon.
The food stall at Tocal Field Days raises a significant amount of money for
our school each year and makes a very important difference to our school.
A note went home last week asking for volunteers to work on the stall and
it would be very much appreciated if you could give some time to help out.
Cross Country Carnival
Thank you to the parents who helped with marshalling at the cross country
carnival. All students participated in a positive manner and we saw some
impressive efforts. The zone cross country team will compete on Friday,
13th May at Tocal. Notes will be sent home to students in the team this
week.
School Photographs
Our school photographs will be taken on Wednesday, 6th April. Please note
that the envelopes are handed straight to the photographers and we do
not open them before the day. You can pay online directly to MSP, but
please do not pay the school directly. Students should wear their current
blue shirts, navy or grey shorts or navy skort, summer tunic, and white
socks with black shoes.
Holiday Chook Care
If any families are able to help with feeding and caring for our chickens
through the school holidays, it would be very much appreciated. If you can
spare some time, please leave your name and the dates you are available at
the school office.
ANZAC Day Dawn Service
We would love to see as many students as are available marching with us at
the ANZAC day dawn service in Paterson. Students should meet Ms Hazell
at Stockers and Partridge at 5.30am.

Tocal Fundraiser: VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED!
Be part of the team! This is the P&C's ONLY major fundraiser for the year.
It is FUN and EASY and there is a great sense of teamwork and comraderie! Time poor? You can volunteer for 2 hours, 4 hours, a whole day - whatever suits you!
Your entry ticket is paid for by the P&C - Bonus! So jump on board - bbq some sausages, sell cakes, operate the cash registers or sell some
raffle tickets to the punters! There are lots of jobs available and friendly people to work alongside.
We'd love to see you there! Simply return your Tocal volunteer form to the office, or contact Carla at:
[email protected] Tocal Field Day notes have gone home. Please consider being a volunteer. The more hands the lighter the load and all money raised goes into helping your child have a better education.
Canteen News A big thank you goes out to Amy Merchant for her amazing effort in running the School Canteen so successfully for the last few years. She has gone above and beyond the call of duty and we all are very grateful for her contribution. Next term Kerri Hicks and Carla Parish will step into the role. If you have any suggestions, questions or would like to volunteer, please email [email protected] or chat to one of us at school.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Due to the large volunteer effort required for our Tocal Fundraiser, the Canteen will be closed for the first week of term 2 and will re-open on Wednesday 4th May. Thank you for your understanding.
Entertainment Books
Entertainment books have been sent home today with your eldest child. If you do not wish to
purchase your book please return to school asap.
Cost per book is $60.00
They make a great Mother’s Day gift!
