6th June, 2013 Communicating with our valued community Term 2: Issue No. 3
The outstanding students in 1F have been
working very hard in all areas. In literacy,
students are developing their reading skills by
improving their comprehension. We have
become confident when writing information
reports and enjoyed researching a range of
different animals. In Maths we have developed
our knowledge of multiplication and division and
are confident at making groups and sharing. We
have also learnt about length and enjoyed using
a ruler to measure things in the classroom. The
students have shown an eagerness to learn and
enjoyed our science unit “On the Rocks”. 1F have
created some fantastic oral presentations on
rockpools demonstrating what they have learnt
throughout this unit. We have been engaged in
all activities this semester and have produced
quality work of an exceptional standard.

available soon. This app will give parents instant
access to our school information ie newsletters,
calendar and the ability to send a sick note from
your smart phone. More information soon.
CLASS OF THE WEEK—1F Tomorrow we will be undertaking our 2013
Athletics Carnival at Harry Moore Oval. This is
always such a wonderful day where our students
participate with pride and enthusiasm and
parents can come and support their children as
they undertake long jumps, high jumps, running
events etc. It is anticipated that all students 8
years and over will attend the day even if it is just
to cheer and support their sports house. Many
thanks in advance to Mr Mick Curran and Mr
James Norman who have worked extremely hard
with all staff to organise this fantastic day. Many
thanks also to the P&C who have so kindly
organised the BBQ, please remember that orders
are now closed.
Last week we had our amazing cross country
runners represent the school at the Wyong Zone
Cross Country carnival. According to Miss Weeks
and Mrs Skehan all students ran to the best of
their ability with pride and determination. It is with
pleasure that we congratulate Tara Wagstaff and
Elijah Steiner who had an amazing day and have
been selected to represent Wallarah Zone at the
Sydney North carnival in the next few weeks.
One of our most exciting events in the school
calendar is Grandparents Day. This will be
occurring tomorrow (Friday 7th June) and is
STRICTLY for grandparents / great grandparents
of children in Kindergarten 2013. Last year we
had many parents who attended which
unfortunately totally changes the essence of the
day and I would like to reinforce that this is a
special day that our Kindergarten children can
share with their grandparents. No child will be
left out if they do not have a grandparent attend
as all children are adopted for the day by another
wonderful, kind grandparent.

Although some books are still coming in on order and will be here soon, we hope everyone has enjoyed their purchases and thank all parents, students and teachers who contributed to the running of the fair.
