Week 8
25th November, 2015
Dear Members of the Nambucca Heads Public School Community,
Teddy Bears Visit Today our pre-school friends from Teddy Bears Pre-school visited our school. Our Orientation Program includes visits to and from pre-schools, visits to school and information sessions. All these different opportunities give our newest students an idea of the various things that they can expect in a school day. We have also made a DVD for each new student which includes staff, students, locations and the students themselves with their Buddies.
Scripture Thank you to our scripture teachers who have volunteered each Wednesday to teach scripture to students in Stages 1 and 2. The final lesson for this year was today with a combined lesson in the school hall. We will be offering one Ethics class in 2016 which is an option for students who do not attend scripture. Expressions of interest will be accepted early next year.
Work Experience Students We currently have three Work Experience students with us from Nambucca Heads High School. Georgia, Jemima and Jade are all ex-students of our school and are having a look at school through a teacher’s eyes this time.
Community Garden Our school captains and vice captains will be part of a Photo Shoot next Monday for the Nambucca Community Garden. Our school has supported this project with a vegie patch near the bottom of the garden. Students have almost completed some large murals which will decorate the garden fence.
Proud to be a Positive Behaviour for Learning School

Seal the Loop Competition The winner of the Seal the Loop Poster Competition was Tarli Davies who received a Family Pass and Junior Dolphin Encounter from Dolphin Marine Magic. Tarli’s poster will be on the Waste Fishing Line Box on the V-Wall. If waste fishing line goes in the box we hope to protect the marine animals that live in our water. Lily Hollister and Lily Kelsey received runner up prizes of Family Passes and Dolphin Marine Magic also donated a free pass to our Christmas Raffle.
Swim & Survive Water Awareness lessons start next week for students in Years 2–6 so that they are safe in the water. Students leave school after the bell and need to bring or wear their swimmers, rashie and towel each day next week. Keeping In Touch,
Cheryl Banks, Principal
