Introduction
Claims DataThe Injuries and Claims section of this report includes information for lost workday claims only. This report does not include information relating to "medical only" claims. Lostworkday claims only involve work-related injuries reported by employers with workers' compensation insurance that resulted in:
* the employee's absence from work for more than one (1) day;* an occupational disease or illness (even if the employee was never absent from work); or* the employee's death.
The number of claims per calendar year will continue to grow as injuries for that calendar year are reported or as injuries reported in the calendar year as "medical only" begin tolose time from work.
Each category must contain at least five claims to be displayed as a separate category. Specific categories with less than five claims will be identified as "N/A". These datarestrictions are intended to help protect the identity of individual injured employees (Texas Labor Code §402.090 permits the release of statistical information if the identity of anemployee is not explicitly or implicitly disclosed).
The number of claims per calendar year will continue to grow as injuries for that calendar year are reported or as injuries reported in the calendar year as "medicalonly" begin to lose time from work.
