Morgan State Legacy MeetLarry Ellis Invitational
Meet Preview:
This weekend, the Retrievers stay local as they travel across the city to participate
in the Morgan State Legacy Meet. This is the closest meet to the campus for all
three seasons, so make your way out and support your Retrievers.
In the sprints, athletes will be trying to make an impact in their premier events in
hopes of better seed times for the America East Conference meet to be held in two
weeks. For the sprinting women, Mercedes Jackson will face some stiff competition
on a fast track in the 100 meters, while sophomore Kirsten Jones will look to move
up the conference charts in the 200 meter dash. Also look for Deborah Adelola to
push her personal best in the 400 meters and for quick times out of the hurdling
duo of Imani Colbert and Chowan Brightful. On the mens side, Sean Cooper will
look to drop some time in both the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes.
In the distance events, four runners will travel to Princeton on Friday evening in
hopes of IC4A/ECAC qualification. Brandan McGee nearly missed out on the
standard in the steeple while Keri Wilson took down the school record in the event.
Andrew Smith will be looking for an IC4A qualification in the 800 meters while Cody
Mezebish will be looking to move up the school lists en route to an ECAC
qualification. On Saturday, some fireworks should come out of the 800 meters at
Morgan State with Jake Albino leading a duo of indoor IC4A qualifiers in CharlesBolinger and Pat Hairfield.
The season of Chrissy Robinson continues in the throwing events as she will take on
the discus, hammer, and shot put. For the men, Cameron McDearmon and Ray
Stinsman will also do the triple events, while Aaron Brooks should lead them
through discus. In the jumping events, Conference triple jump leader Shioma
Obemeata will take the runway in both the triple and the long.

couple seconds. After nearly missi
out the past two seasons, Wilson
finally took it down by running 11:
at the Bucknell Bison Open this pa
weekend. With at least two more
steeples on the slate including th
weekend, Wilson will be using he
breakout performance to continu
putting the mark out of reach.

Athlete Spotlights
Paulette Fogle:
A successful inaugural campaign during the indoor season saw freshman Paulette Fogle
move up to #8 on the All Time 400 meter performance list and #6 on the All Time 500
meter performance list. This was in addition to running a leg on the school record and
ECAC qualifying 4x400 meter relay team. However, it took until outdoor for her to reach
her specialty in the long hurdle race. She has quickly moved up the All Time lists tonumber two, with a 1:02.5 clocking in the event, and looks to be on the cusp of breaking
the school record (Jennifer Kalkenstein 1:02.37).
Sean Kshmetski:
For most of his three years on campus Sean Kshmetski only did one event, the pole
vault. He made great strides this year moving onto the Top 10 All Time list with a
personal best 14 3.25 vault during the indoor season. However, it appears he might
have only be moonlighting in the event after a curious attempt at the javelin. Results
came quickly as his meet he made the Top 10 All Time list, and in his third time out, he
moved up to #6 All Time with a toss of 164 2. Being still relatively inexperienced in the
event, look for Sean to quickly move up the list and possibly make a run at the school
record.
Inside the Numbers:
Number of weeks remaining until the America East Conference meet to be held at the
University of Maine which will highs in the Upper 50s for the next ten days.2
