Our mission is to combat the spread of infectiousdiseases through a family of comprehensive, cost-effective, and environmentally safe solutions.
AeroClave Partners with Vital OxideVital Oxide is an EPA registered hospital disinfectant that isa broad-spectrum antimicrobial that performs against awide variety of bacteria, yeasts, viruses, fungi, spores, molds, mildews, and other microbes. It is ready to fog rightfrom the bottle. Vital Oxide includes components thatdramatically decrease the size of its particles making itperfect for use in theAeroClave Process.
Active IngredientThe main ingredient in Vital Oxide is chlorine dioxide(CIO ). CIO has been recognized for its powerful2 2
disinfecting properties since the early 1900’s. Although ithas chlorine in its name, its chemistry is very different fromthe corrosive chemistry of chlorine bleach.
Environmentally FriendlyThe primary differences between chlorine and CIO are that2
CIO is less caustic, safer and gentler than bleach and2
many other antiseptics and antimicrobials, plus it remainseffective under organic load. The chemical composition ofVital Oxide is such that it has a minimal impact on theenvironment and contains no ozone harming volatilecompounds(VOC). Further, chlorine bleach producesharmful by-products to the environment includingtrihalomethanes (THM) and haloacetic acids (HAAS). VitalOxide breaks down to a simple salt and produces noharmful by-products.
Room Fogging: Effective DecontaminationAeroClave’s room fogging technology creates a "ne,atomized particle that reaches into nooks, crevices andcorners that disinfecting sprays & wipes just can't reach. The dry mist permeates the entire area disinfectingsurfaces while reaching under counters and furniture.
AeroClave vs. Manual CleaningStudies show that manual cleaning may actually bespreading dangerous pathogens to previously non-contaminated surfaces. In addition, human error andineffective techniques may signi"cantly lessen theeffectiveness of standard methods of disinfection.
Use of the AeroClave Process reduces the labor and skillsrequired to perform an effective treatment. Automatedroom fogging is proven to be a most thorough and costeffective method for treating all the exposed surfaceswithin a room or vehicle. Consistent and reliable deliveryof disinfectant to the high touch environmental surfacesassures suf"cient contact time and reduces the risk ofcross-contamination associated with a wipe or sponge.
AeroClave Process Destroys PathogensProven effective against MRSA, HIV-1, Hepatitis B,Hepatitis C, Ebola, MERS, CRE, E. coli, Norovirus, H1N1,Legionella pneumophilia, Salmonella, Listeria, mold, mildew and more.
Phases of the AeroClave Process
Injection Dwell Aeration
Injection Phase: In this phase, the decontamination solution isaerosolized and applied evenlyto the treatment area. A typicalin ject ion phase wi l l las tanywhere from 5-30 minutes, depending on the size of thetreatment area.
Dwell Phase: The treatmentarea is allowed to sit in a dwellperiod for a minimum of tenminutes. The dwell periodgives the aerosolized solutionan opportunity to evenlydistr ibute throughout thetreatment area, ensuring fullcoverage on all surfaces.
Aeration Phase: The aerationphase is when the solution isremoved from the treatmentarea. This can be done invarious ways: reenergizing thefac i l i t y HVAC, prov id ingexternal ventilation, promotingair circulation, etc. The solutionwill also naturally break down.
Vital Oxide FactsHow Do We Destroy Bacteria?Bacteria are killed through the process ofoxidation. The CIO aerosolized by the2
AeroClave Process steals electrons fromthe amino acid of the microbial cell. Bystealing an electron from the amino acid,CIO chemically alters the amino acid2
preventing it from building protein. Withoutthe protein, the cell wall crumbles and theunprotected organism inside dies. Thebacterial cell is destroyed.
How Do We Kill Viruses? The process kills viruses by altering and preventingprotein formation. This is done through a reaction topeptone, a water soluble substance that is formed fromhydrolysis of proteins to amino acids. The virus effectivelystarves to death.
Fast and Effective Way to KillVital Oxide is stabilized to retain over 98% of its strengthfor over one year under normal storage conditions. At thesame time the stabilization is controlled to allow a rapidequilibrium between the "stabilized" and "free" CIO . This2
means that the Vital Oxide total 2,000-ppm CIO is2
available almost instantly as needed to destroy harmfulmicrobial substances, and whatever is not used will beavailable in reserve for long-term residual activity.
WorksAgainst Bio!lmCIO is more effective than biocide chemicals such as2
ozone and chlorine. Both ozone and chlorine areconsumed by other organic compounds whereas CIO is2
not. There are very few compounds that are reactive withCIO making this chemical compound much more2
selective. Other biocides may be able to kill off free-#oating bacteria but they are unable to prevent thebacteria within the colony from mutating and building upresistance. CIO chemically alters the cell preventing it2
from community with other cells and mutating. This is whyVital Oxide works against bio" lms more effectively thanother biocides.
Safe For Your Staff and EquipmentVital Oxide is so mild that you can wash your hands in it. Itis non-irritating to the skin, and non-corrosive to treatedarticles. Vital Oxide quali" es for a health and safety ratingof 0 (HMIS=0) and an EPA toxicity rating of Category 4,meaning that exposure exhibits no oral or inhalation
toxicities, and only a mildirritation when sprayeddirectly into the eyes. Infact, no special personalprotective equipment isrequired during sprayingor fogging except eyeprotection.
