Q: How do you approach your digital content in a way that works so well when so many other marketing brands have struggled? A: We have a vast content library, with 25 years of amazing, finely researched, well-designed, beautiful imagery, and thousands of great recipes and decorating techniques. That library is being combed through and rearranged daily for the Internet user.


Q: How have you made sure your culture supports your values? A: The people who come to work for us are like-minded people.


Q: Are you trying to set trends, or watch the horizon to jump on new trends?A: It’s both. It’s just a question of being enthusiastic about what you’re doing, building carefully, having passion for your ideas.


Q: When there is a setback, what is the best way to respond? A: Be very frank, open, honest, calm, and forthright. Change course as quickly as possible.


Q: What do you think it is in your upbringing that you can do it when others struggle? A: I was brought up to believe in myself. I was encouraged to do what I thought was right, good, and productive. My father said you can do anything you want if you work hard enough. That’s a very important work ethic to instill in your children.


Q: You created this category, and now you have competitors that followed your path. How do you stay a step ahead? A: Like who? I have been pitted against some beautiful, talented, amazing girls, and it’s so silly. There is room for a lot of great stuff. The world has become extremely crowded and competitive. And if I can be a mentor and a helper, that’s great.



Q: What do you hope your legacy is? A: To have been a really good teacher. And to have been a successful entrepreneur who did things that made living every day better.
