What is our brain doing when we sleep?
When we sleep our brain discards useless information and stores useful information for future reference.
And with all this random information “clashing” in our minds it can produce some strange results these are dreams…

Odd Types of Dreams III
Lucid Dream
Occur when you realize you are dreaming. Most wake up once they realize that they are dreaming. Others can stay and they become the controllers of their dreams. (Seriously I've had one)… (really cool)
![Page 6: The brain and dreams2](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022050714/55a591271a28abbe228b4611/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
When we dream the logic center of the brain is turned off. Therefore if we are chatting with a
centaur in the park we accept it as fact. In lucid dreams however we have said logic…
LOGIC
CENTER

How can one feel something in a lucid dream if it is not real?
If someone is extremely hallucinating the brain can create things to go along with the images such as sounds and sometimes you can feel things that aren’t there the same thing applies in…

…Lucid Dreams
• If deep enough in a lucid dream you can experience the five senses (I speak from experience)

The Lucidity Institute
A man named Stephen LaBerge founded the “Lucidity Institute” in 1987 and started development of techniques to help people achieve lucid dreams
![Page 10: The brain and dreams2](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022050714/55a591271a28abbe228b4611/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
The Nova Dreamer
Stephen invented a sleep mask designed to detect when the user was in REM (Rapid-Eye-Movement) Sleep.
It would then flash an LED light bright enough to shine through the eyelids but not enough to wake him/her.
![Page 11: The brain and dreams2](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022050714/55a591271a28abbe228b4611/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
The user would then recognize the flashing
and realize that he/she is dreaming.
Thus leading to a lucid dream…

What can you do?
Since Lucid Dreams are merely images of the mind it is literally only limited by your imagination.
So you can in fact fly through the air, feel the wind in your face and smell the fresh air. (Once again I speak from Dream Experience)
![Page 13: The brain and dreams2](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022050714/55a591271a28abbe228b4611/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
It is kind of like ‘The Matrix’
Lucid dreams are the best reality simulator to date.
No technology can match the reality of lucid dreams so far.
And it’s all completely natural…
![Page 14: The brain and dreams2](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022050714/55a591271a28abbe228b4611/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
There are others…
There are many more people that enjoy lucid dreaming. Even though it is not a very well known phenomenon…
