2007/2008 ANNUAL REPORTJuly 1, 2007 – June 30, 2008
The Future Looks Bright
I Wish…
By Aaron Borders
Seventh grade student at Gateway MiddleSchool, Saint Louis Public Schools;Nancy Powers’ Poetry Writing residency
I wish that I could fly
So I could touch the stars,
I wish that the person I love the most
Can live forever,
I wish that there was a word
That could describe how happy
I am everyday,
I wish that no one in the world
Could drop a tear,
I wish I had magic powers
So I could make a billion people smile,
I wish…
Words from Barbara Carswell, Executive Director
2007-2008 was a year ofreflection, growth and achance to look towards
the future. It has been two years sinceSpringboard to Learning and YoungAudiences of St. Louis merged to become asingle organization. Our Board and stafffunction as one to better serve the studentsand teachers of the St. Louis region. We arenow looking to the future to see what morewe can do to always keep improving our programs, continue to adhere to nationaland state standards of excellence and makethe best possible indelible impression oneach student our program touches. OurBoard and staff completed a strategic planthat we will follow for the next two yearsand we look forward to achieving our goals.
The success of our organization would notbe possible without the generous supportfrom individuals, foundations and corpora-tions. Thank you for making our students’wishes come true.
