hardworking, and thoughtfulmembers of our team. During Winter Storm Uri, Luis worked day and night the entire week. He worked up untilmidnight each day and slept in a sleeping bag until it was time to start again early the next morning. This isremarkable in and of itself but even more so since his house did sustain broken and leaking pipes as a result of thestorm.

day. He then led the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem President Happy, assisted by PP Richard Stanford, introduced our visitors and guests, several of whom were potential members. Nolan Duck highlighted our Market Place Advertiser of the week, Richard Stanford and Highland Park United Methodist Church. President Happy asked Sarah Oliai to in-troduce the leaders of the Teams under her area of service, Youth Services. These in-clude Scjolarships (John Whaley), Interact (Tracy Gomes and Linda Tunnell), Rotaract (Ruth Alhilali), Readers 2 Leaders (Rob Levy) and RYLA (Linda Tunnell and Patsy Watson). It is hoped that these teams can be re-estab-lished once it is known if school will open again. Marcia Zidle reminded us to fill out our member profiles on line to be highlighted in the member spotlights every week. President Happy asked all of the members with July birthdays to come to the podium while "Hap-py Birthday" was sung. President Happy re- minded
us to pick up a ticket if we were paying for
lunch, and if we were not eating, to sit at a "non-eater table." President Happy introduced our speaker today, Brandon Nutt, D.C., who spoke on "Sleep Solutions." He began by saying that anyone with any issue will also have sleep

problems. He said that there are easy things to do to sleep better without medications. Common problems are• blood sugar regulation problems• Circadian rhythm problems- we run on atwelve hour clock, and• neurotransmitter problemsIf you cannot fall asleep within thirty minutes of going to bed, you have insomnia. Some peo-ple find it hard to stay asleep, and some peo-ple have both problems. Blood sugar regula-tion factors relate to these factors:• what time are you eating? what is it?• are you having a bedtime snack? what id it?• what time is breakfast? what is it?• would you be comfortable going half a daywithout eating? You do that between dinnerand breakfast. Eating protein is better than eat-ing carbohydrates. Carbs are like jet fuel; youget immediate energy, but then you crash. Howdo you feel at two to four in the afternoon? Youusually feel the inverse at night. Eating a littleprotein or good fat before you go to bed mayhelp you stay asleep. To reset your Circadianrhythm, stand with your bare feet on theground and watch the sunrise, then do thesame at sunset. Don't watch TV or the compu-ter before you go to bed. The light keeps youfrom developing the melatonin you need forsleep. If you are sleepy during the day andawake at night, you may need to change yourdiet.. It is better to eat small meals and snacksincluding protein. Dysfunctional sleep can"snowball" and result in stress and using caf-feine. He gave the following suggestions toimprove your sleep that you can start today:• have a healthy bedtime snack with protein• first thing in the morning do one minute of body weight exercise, squats, push ups or jumping jacks• have a healthy breakfast including fat and protein• snack throughout the day, every two to three hours, but avoid excessive carbohydrates• try to exercise at lunchtime• turn off screens when the sun goes down• leave work at work• get into a routine
