As was announced this past Sunday, the youth minister search committee is pleased to recommend a candidate to the church who will serve as our next youth minister. Having met with the committee each time they met, I can personally attest to how thorough and diligent the search process has been. While over a hundred persons applied for the position, there was one candidate who stood out above the rest, and his name is Joel Harvey. What impresses me the most about
Joel is not only his love for Christ but his desire to see students come to faith in Christ and grow in Christ! He and his wife Grace will be at the church next weekend and we will vote on Joel during a special-called business meeting at the close of both morning worship services. Inside this week’s edition of The Messenger is a schedule for the weekend. Please make every effort to come and meet the Harveys! Jeremy Sivils and his team of volunteers have done a great job conducting our music camp this week. They will be presenting their musical, “Submerged”, this Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. Hope to see you there! In His Service, Bro. Bob
Worship Music for Sunday (July 17) This Sunday Bro. Bob will be preaching the message,
“What Does It Mean to Fear The Lord?” from 2 Chronicles 26:1-23, at BOTH AM services. Our praise
team will lead the worship music for the Contemporary service at 8:30 a.m. The Worship Choir will
open the 10:50 a.m. service with the gospel favorite, “Old-Time Religion in My Heart!” Plus, Jack Lee
will be sharing a solo (“Because of Who You Are”) just before Bro. Bob’s message. Lance, Uncle Wally and
Marty will play the instruments for the 10:50 a.m. service (Be ready for a little bit different with extra toe tapping).
Sunday evening the music camp kids (around 30 of them) will share the 2016 VBS Musical: “Submerged” as the
6:00 Evening Service!

Youth returned last Friday excited from camp, having considered their identity in Christ and stronger in their commitment to Him. They studied the scripture, praised, prayed and enjoyed fellowship and recreation. This Sunday, July 17 the youth will go to Tamara and Keith Currens house for a hayride and campfire where they will cook hot dogs on a stick over the fire for afterglow. Saturday,
July 23, youth have lunch with the prospective youth minister and his wife. The following night, Sunday, July 24, they will participate in family worship followed by the cake bake (no Afterglow). On the Sunday the 31
st, youth will talk to the church about their camp experience and enjoy a scavenger
hunt after church. Blessings, David and Marsha
It has been such a great week at Music Camp! The kids are diving down deep to discover more about God and what it means to worship Him. I’m so proud of all the hard work they have put into this camp, and I encourage everyone to come out and support them as they present, “Submerged the Musical!” The Performance will take the place of evening worship
service on Sunday Night at 6:00pm. Music Camp participants please arrive at 4:30pm in the sanctuary.
Our Wednesday Faith Nights are going well! This past Wednesday was our Water Game Night, and it was a BLAST! This coming Wednesday will be Indoor Game Night, and we will have everything from board games to kickball and even some artsy stuff. Come Join us from 6-8pm! Cheerfully in Christ, Jeremy

Preparations for our 2016 Inasmuch Day on Saturday, September 17th have begun! While we will be doing some of the same projects we did last year such as food drives, gift baskets and home improvements, this year we would like to
focus our efforts on our surrounding neighborhoods.
In order to determine our neighbors’ specific needs, on July 30 from 10:00 am until noon we will fan out in small groups and spend some time talking to our neighbors one-on-one. We will be sharing with them a list of projects/jobs we might be able to help them with, as well as listening to their suggestions on more ways we can help.
If you are interested in getting to know our neighbors while making a difference in our community, please contact the church office at 839-6966 to sign up. All ages are needed—be sure to bring the kiddos.
The Children’s Ministry will offer Faith Nights on Wednesdays in July. Wednesday, July 20, will be GAME
NIGHT. Bring your game face and be ready to have some fun beginning at 6:00 pm.
