California College StudentEmergency Support FundLaunches in Response to

COVID-19The California College Student Emergency Support Fund has launched to giveone-time $500 hardship grants to students. Administered by Mission Asset Fund(MAF), the Fund is a statewide philanthropic response to address emergencyneeds for the state’s low-income college students, including undocumentedimmigrants, foster youth, and those who are housing insecure.

Am I Eligible?To be eligible for the California College StudentEmergency Support Fund, students must:

Be currently enrolled full-time (12+ units) asan undergraduate at a California CommunityCollege, California State University, orUniversity of California campusHave earned at least 24 semester units or 36quarter units (i.e., one academic year ofcoursework)Be low-income, with a maximum EstimatedFamily Contribution (EFC) of $5,576(equivalent to eligibility for Pell Grant) oreligible for a California College PromiseGrant Fee Waiver (formerly known as theBOG fee waiver)

After approval, students can expect to receivethe money via electronic transfer within 72hours.

How Can I Apply?Students can access the application and applyfor a grant online by using the following link:

Applications and grant payments to studentswill be processed by MAF. MAF is a well-established non-profit organization thatcarried out a similar emergency fund effort in2017 to pay for DACA (Deferred Action forChildhood Arrivals) recipients’ renewal fees.

We encourage interested students to apply asquickly as possible as these funds will go fast.

It will help to have the following items at theready: your transcript, financial aid eligibility(any financial aid statement or award letterthat shows EFC or California College PromiseGrant Fee Waiver), and electronic banking logininformation (not required).
