The Nervous SystemBy: Teachers of Students with Autism -CHS
This is the nervous system. The nervous system is inside of our body, which means it’s internal.
The nervous system is made of three main parts; the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.
This is the brain. It is the control system for your body. The brain helps you think and controls everything you do.
The brain is divided up into the right and left brain and different cortexes.
The right brain controls the left side of the body, your feelings, helps you organize, and helps you think in pictures. The left brain helps you with details, do math, do science, stay safe, know facts, and with patterns.
This is the spinal cord. The spinal cord sends messages to the brain and controls our body.
The spinal cord is made of nerves.
These are the nerves. We have many nerves that are everywhere throughout the body. The nerves control our body.
The parts of a nerve are the cell body and dendrites.
We can help our nervous system by exercising and a diet of omega-3. Omega-3 is vitamin found in fish, nuts, flaxseed, basil, and spinach.
