From Jack Thorne, the Olivier Award-winning writer of
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, comes a thrilling the-
atrical take on the world’s most epic modern myth. Di-
rected and choreographed by Olivier winner Drew
McOnie, with an electrifying new score by Marius de
Vries (La La Land) and Eddie Perfect (Strictly Ballroom
The Musical), King Kong comes alive on Broadway
through an innovative mix of robotics, puppetry and stage-
craft. Follow an ambitious young actress and a maverick
filmmaker as they voyage from the bustling streets of
1930s New York to an uncharted island to capture the
greatest wonder the world has ever seen. At the center of
this 21st-century reimagining: a 2,000-pound, 20-story
gorilla, and the woman who risks everything to help him.
Don’t miss this exhilarating, emotional encounter with a
legend that’s always been too big to contain.

In an Israeli desert town where every day feels the same,
something different is suddenly in the air. Dina, the local
café owner, had long resigned her desires for romance to
daydreaming about exotic films and music from her youth.
When a band of Egyptian musicians shows up lost at her
café, she and her fellow locals take them in for the night.
Under the spell of the night sky, their lives intertwine in
unexpected ways, and this once sleepy town begins to
wake up.
POOL
Hello LCC Members,
The time has come for the August newsletter. This summer has been flying by and before
we know it the kids will be back to school. As a reminder, please make sure you are checking
the lost and found for any items you may have misplaced. As we collect more items, we will be
making trips to Good Will to donate. As a staff we will be sure to put out any items we have
collected one last time before we donate.
If any children and/or adults come to the pool and have games they would like to play
don’t be afraid to come to the guard office and the lifeguards will be happy to assist. Also be on
the lookout for our remaining movie by the pool dates (August 11 & September 2). The movies
will begin at approximately 8 pm and complimentary popcorn will be provided. Pool floats are
welcome and encouraged, but are not to be used until the movie begins.
We would like to invite everyone to stop by the pool for our Labor Day celebrations!
Pool games will begin at 1pm. This is our last day of fun in the sun before the summer is over.
We want to make it a great event to end the summer so put us on your calendars!
Thank you to everyone for making this another fun and exciting summer. The pool staff
has enjoyed our time together!
Sincerely,
LCC Pool Management Team
Emily, Katie, and Phil

Dear LCC Members,
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. July was a busy month with a lot of activities at the tennis cen-
ter. Summer camp has been running every week from Monday to Friday. Players from the age of 4 to 16
have been joining us and learning a lifelong sport. My staff and I are really having a great time working
with everyone. Our main goal at the tennis camp is to make sure that every kid reaches their maximum
potential. Please feel free to reach me at [email protected] if you would want any information regarding
the camps.
Adult clinics and cardio tennis have been well attended. The biggest hit has been Wednesday live ball
clinic which is held every Wednesdays from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.
We had our first bus trip of the year to go watch the Philadelphia Freedoms at St. Joe’s University on July
19th. 36 members joined us for this trip and we got to do a brief meet and greet with the Pros from the
Freedoms. Our Junior members drew a lot of inspiration from watching high level tennis.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions regarding our tennis program.

Through interactive play, children’s literature and virtual tours we will visit exhibits including reptiles, amphibians and mammals. Our zoo explorers will dig deep to investigate what they eat, their colors and learn about their powers of speed and strength. Art projects, including
stamped peacock pictures and snakes slithering in the grass, will reflect the uniqueness of the animals.

adventure, they will be challenged to construct shelter for their group and experiment with sand. The depths of the ocean, beach life, and its wild animals inspire projects, including the creation of mixed-media jellyfish. We are then sent on a hunt for hidden pirate treasure and
play wacky island Olympic Games. We look forward to sea-ing you!

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
July 2018
Dear Fellow Members: As I write this, Summer is half way over and Fall will soon be upon us. I want to bring everybody up to date on the happen-ings at Lehigh. Despite some wet weather, we have had a good summer season of golf, tennis, swimming and dining. Activi-ty levels are down slightly, mainly due to the wet weather. Hopefully the next few months will be a lot drier & less humid. Member Guest was two weeks ago and once again the staff at Lehigh did a fantastic job. The Invitational is next week and I’m sure it will be equally as good. Ladies Golf also just has a successful Ladies Day Event at LCC last Thursday. They have also had a full schedule of events this year. The Swim Team is concluding their season with the championships this week-end including the diving championships at Lehigh on Friday. Tennis, under Ari’s leadership, is very busy with camps and clinics despite the weather. We look forward to a busy month of August for all three activities. The projects that we have been working on for the past 10 months are about 95% complete. The HVAC upgrades are the last to be completed and should be done shortly. A few minor changes to the golf half-way house will be completed in the next few weeks. The upgrades to the pool bathrooms and half-way house plus all the other improvements were badly need-ed and turned out better than expected. We came in very close to budget. I want to thank all those involved in achieving this. The Board has recently approved some changes with our internal controls that will help insure financial accuracy. Instead of annual reviews, our auditors will now do a quarterly review of our financials to help manage our finances. This will also make the year-end audit is an easier and more efficient process. The board will also be doing a Capital Reserve Study in the near future to determine our capital needs over the next 10 years and beyond. We have done this several years ago, but it is time to update our existing plan. We will also have a presentation in September by Club Benchmarking to ensure our revenues and costs are in line with country clubs our size in our region. I want to thank the Board & the Committee Chairs for all their work. Their input is very valuable to the success of Lehigh.
Keeping the club financially healthy allows us to continually improve the facilities and the services offered. Once again, growing the membership is always critical. If you know someone that may be interested, please contact Bill Coles, membership chair, Jon Clay or Jen Felegy for a follow up. Jon Clay has been with us since early April and we look forward to his ideas and leadership. If you have not met him, please stop by his office and introduce yourself. He has been very visible at the club and has already met many members. He re-cently went on a golf bus trip to Hershey with 27 members and we all had a great time. His family just completed their move from Nevada to Allentown a few weeks ago and will live in the Farmhouse, just off the 4th hole. We welcome them to Lehigh.
Last, but not least, I want to thank all the employees at Lehigh; all of whom continue to provide us with terrific service and a great experience at the club. We have many wonderful employees contributing their time and talents to make Lehigh great. We don’t thank them enough. Thank you all for your cooperation and support over the past year. We look forward to the 2nd half of 2018 and beyond.
Very truly yours,
Richard C Pearce II

MISSION STATEMENT The mission of Lehigh Country Club is to be the private country club of choice in the Lehigh Valley. This will be achieved by providing quality facilities and services and by making Lehigh Country Club every member's preferred establishment for dining, social, and recreational activities. We will provide an outstanding golf course in terms of appearance, condition, and fairness to all levels of play, in addition to an excellent tennis, paddle tennis, swim, and clubhouse facilities, with well manicured grounds surrounding the club complex. Employees will treat every member, family member, and guest with courtesy and respect, in a warm and wel-
come atmosphere.
In order to insure the excellent experience for the members, the Club will carefully select
compatible new members and appropriately limit the total membership.
The Board of Governors and management will be both responsive to the membership, as well as responsible, with the purpose of perpetuating the Club by constantly maintaining the facilities and operating the Club in a sound financial manner to protect and enhance the value of the member’s equity, thereby assuring the continuity of Lehigh Country Club's
