Teacher’s “Gift of Time”
Teachers are donating to the auction too! They are donating a “Gift of Time” to the auction. The gifts are fun experiences that the kids can have with their teachers either after school or during lunch. There will be a “Gift of Time” wall at the Silent Auction so you can bid on the
experience.
Here are some experiences:
Ms. DeStefano is auctioning a trip to see the Tampa Yankees play with 2 friends.
Ms. Johnson will take a student and a friend out for ice cream.
Ms. Gallagher will have cocoa and books with 4 students at Starbucks.
Or a student can be the Principal or Vice Principal for the day!
Important Auction Information:
We will be using a mobile bidding system this year. You
can access this through any smart phone or wifi enabled de-
vice (iPad, tablet, iTouch, etc.). Wifi connection will be
available at the hotel.

The Silent Auction Raffle
items include a flat
screen TV, a wine basket and a Google
Android tablet! Raffle tickets are $5
each and can be purchased at the PTSO
meeting on March 26th or the night of the
auction. There is also a 50/50 raffle with
tickets costing $1 that will be sold at the
auction.
One more day of basket making! We will be getting together at
Jo Ann’s house to finish putting the baskets together from all the donated
items. We will be meeting at Jo Ann's house on Tuesday, March 24th. Please
sign up on the PTSO website. We will email the address to volunteers prior
to the event. Also, if you have any ribbon, clear plastic wrap or baskets of
any size to donate, please bring it or leave it a the front desk at school by
Wednesday.

The Book Fair will be held May 11-15th.
5th Grade “Move Up Day” (daytime) and 8th Grade Graduation (evening) are June
4th! Make sure you buy a yearbook by April 1st for your graduating student!
Lost and Found: Have your children check for their stuff! Items that have been there
longer than a month will be donated. Lunch boxes are located in the cafeteria, valua-
ble or small items (head bands, etc.) are at the front desk, and coats, sweaters, pants,
etc. are in front of the Media Center. There are 2 sets of car keys at the front office.
Consider purchasing a yearbook for your teacher!
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4th—Math 8th.
Make sure you check the volunteer tab on the PTSO page regularly
for volunteer opportunities. We are always adding additional oppor-
tunities! Each family is required to volunteer 10 hours per year! If
you are looking for opportunities outside of regular business hours,
please consider helping to get donations for the Silent Auction. Also,
you get 1 hour for each PTSO meeting you attend.
New spots recently added: We need judges, score keepers and time
keepers to help with Battle of the Books in May.
Ms. Halsor’s Bulletin Board: The Life Cycle of a HAMS Volunteer.
The members of the Dad’s Club have put a lot of work to
find the storage shed, get it delivered and set up. The shed
will be used to store the Haunted House supplies and give
Coach Cooney some extra storage space for sports
equipment. Thank you to everyone involved for all you did!
Busch Gardens has extended the dead-
line to sign up for Grad Nite to April
1st!!
8th graders transitioning into high school can attend the
Busch Gardens Grad Night on May 1st from 7 p.m. until mid-
night. The cost is $53.50 per student and includes rides, DJs,
live entertainment and dinner. Busch Gardens is open exclu-
sively for 8th graders that night. Flyers are available on the
PTSO website. Please return a completed form to child’s hom-
eroom teacher by April 1st. Parents are needed to chaperone
and transport to and from Busch Gardens. There will be a par-
ent sign up on the website closer to the event. For every 10
paid kids there will be a free chaperone.
