Rejecting the Government'sclaim that the situation inJammu and Kashmir hadimproved, the party's seniorspokespersons, Ghulam NabiAzad and P Chidambaram, saidin a statement that casualtieshad been reported from the Stateeveryday since July 10.

"The Congress repudiatesthe Government's claim andcalls upon the Government totake the nation into confidenceand disclose what it is doing tobring about normalcy in Jammuand Kashmir," the two leaderssaid in the joint statement.
