"chosen”
("(bachar (H977), "to choose.")
by YAHUWAH brings people into an intimate relationship with Him: "...
The children of the YaHuWaH ALuaHiYM
Deut 14:2
For you are a set-apart people to YaHuWaH your ALuaHiYM and YaHuWaH
has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above
all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
We are not to do anything in a common way or live an "unexamined life".
We do not want to settle for just being a treasure to Him, but being a
special treasure! This indeed means that others will be excluded, no
matter how they are grouped—an unpopular fact today. Who? Anyone
who does these pagan things. YSCHRaEL has been set apart; that is
already indisputably accomplished. Our job is to separate ourselves unto
YSCHRaEL so we can actually be a part of that calling. As Moshah said at Mt. Sinai,
“Whoever is for YaHuWaH, come over to me”
(i.e., to the Torah that he represents).
It does not matter who you parents were;
“whosoever will may come”.
But come you must.
It will not come about by magic; we have to immerse ourselves in His
Word to so it becomes engrained in us. Treasure Him through His words
and He will treasure you. And you cannot set yourself apart to YaHuWaH
without giving yourself away to the rest of YSCHRaEL. The promise is to a
people, not to individuals.
You are a Set Apart people:
The idea behind Sacred is
“separate.”
1 Kefa Alef 2:9
But you are a "chosen race",
Tehillim 33:12
Blessed is the nation whose Aluahiym is YaHuWaH, the people whom He has chosen for His Own inheritance.
Officiating as priests of the Kingdom
(those of verse 19)
“I shall set a sign among them, and I shall send such as escape of them
[144,000?] to the nations, to Tarshiysh, Puwl, and Luwd, who draw the
bow, to Tuwbal and Yawan, to the islands afar off, who have not heard My
fame, neither have seen My splendor ; and they shall declare My esteem
among the nations.
YashaYahuw 66:20-21
They shall bring all your brothers out of all the nations for an offering to
YaHuWaH, with songs, and in chariots, and in litters, and on swift things,
and with whirling dances, to My Qodesh Mountain Yahrushalom, says
YaHuWaH, as the children of YSCHRaEL bring their offering in a clean
vessel into the House of YaHuWaH. Of them also shall I take for priests
and for Lewiy,” says YaHuWaH.
Yahrushalom the most sacred mountain
A Set-apart people, a people for ALuaHiYM own possession that you may
proclaim the excellence of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous Light!
The people of YSCHRaEL were a people separate unto YaHuWaH
In YaHuWSCHuA we also are a Sacred people:
But we are . . . a sacred nation
There are Conditions pertaining to His chosen..........
Shemot 19:5
So now, as you hear, if you will really listen to (within) My Voice, and keep My covenant, then you will become to Me a uniquely valued and guarded
treasure above all of the other peoples; because all the earth is Mine; and
you shall become for Me a kingdom of priests, and a separated nation.’
These are the words which you shall speak to the children of YSCHRaEL.”
[Proposal of YaHuWaH]
Hear, listen, and keep: to leave out any of these will keep us from
receiving the fullness of the gift He wants was to give us through His
instruction (Torah). Listen within: or „listen into"--hear the depths of what
I am saying behind the words, the spirit that lies behind the letter. A
uniquely valued treasure: literally, sealed up and hidden away. Others
may see us as imprisoned in His box, “having to” do things not required of them, losing our rights, or being “under” the Law.”A separated nation: in
a class of its own. As He prepares to bring her into the covenant of
betrothal at Sinai, He wants her to have no doubt that He loves no one
but her. He came to Mitsrayim to get her, but did not stay; there were
other Aluahiym in place there. He fought them for her, but has now
carried her to His own home. (At this time, Sinai was His special dwelling
place.) Since YaHuWSHuWaH sent envoys to gather the lost sheep of the
House of YSCHRaEL back into covenant through his blood, the same holds
true for us
1 Kefa 2:9-10 But you are a "chosen race",
officiating as priests of the Kingdom, a Set-apart people, a people for
Aluahiym’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of Him
Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous Light! who in time
past were Lo’-Ammíy” Not My people
Hushuwa 1:9
He said, “Call his name Lo-Ammiy; for you are not my people, and I will
not be yours.
Lo-Ammi means “not My people”. I.e., again, this was Gomer’s son, but
not Huwshua’s.
but now are YaHuWaH's people
Hushuwa 1:10
Yet the number of the descendants of YSCHRaEL will come to be as the
sand of the sea, which can’t be measured nor numbered; yet it will come
to pass that, in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My
people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living Aluah.’
Number can also mean “tale”. Sand comes from a word meaning to
writhe, dance, or whirl about, as can be observed in the shifting patterns
on a sand dune. The sea often symbolizes the heathen nations, so in addition to there being an immeasurable number of Ysra'el’ites in exile
(because they are lost track of in their intermingling with the gentiles; cf.
Bereshiyth. 48:16
the messenger who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads, and let
my name be named on them, and the name of my father’s Abraham and
Yitschaq. Let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”
their “story” will also be one of moving from place to place like the ever-
shifting sand. Yet: Even those on whom He had no compassion can still
become His children because they are related to Ephrayim.
YashaYahuw 65:1
“I am inquired of by those who didn’t ask; I am found by those who didn’t
seek Me:
I said, See Me, see Me, to a nation that was not called by My Name.
YaHuWaH would not lose track of one grain.
(Amos 9:9
“For, behold, I will command, and I will sift the House of YSCHRaEL
among all the nations, as grain is sifted in a sieve, yet not the least kernel will fall on the earth.)
Their very own descendants will one day be reassembled like the dried-out
bones of YeCHeZQEL 37) in the same Land (as the ancient Aramaic
interpretation bears out) and, as suggested by the term “place”, at the
Hekal Mount itself, which is often specifically nicknamed “The Place [where
I have set My Name]”. The Aramaic interpretation supports this. Sons of
the Living Al: This claim is made in 1 Yahuwchanan 3:1 "Behold, how
great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called
children of Aluahiym! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it
didn’t know Him." . We will not look like our fathers, but like
YaHuWSHuWaH when we see Him.
Yahuwchanan 1:12.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become
Aluahiym’s children,
To those who believe on His Name:
This therefore identifies where we can find the House of YSCHRaEL today.
It is a “people” who are “called out” of every nation, kindred, tribe, and
language. The exile continued long after this declaration, however. The
reason is that there are two concurrent sentences.
Hushuwa 1:11 The descendants of Yahuwdah and the descendants of YSCHRaEL will be
gathered into one, and they will together appoint themselves one head,
and will go up from the land; for great will be the day of Yizre'al.
who were “Lo’-Rucha´mah” (Not pitied ), but now have obtained mercy.
[Paraphrase of Hushuwa 2: 23]
You, on the other hand, are “a chosen a royal order of priests, an ethnic
group in a separate category, a people kept back as His own possession, so that you may divulge the excellent virtues of the One Who has called
you out of darkness into His incomprehensible light- [you] who once were
“not a people” , but now are the people of Al; those “Not Pitied”, but now
having experienced mercy! [from Scriptures for all YSCHRaEL]
Not a people: Aram. not counted a people. But now: 780 years later—
after the doubling (of the sentence of 390 years (YeCHeZQEL 4:9). After
Kefa wrote this, despite his reminders we chose once again not to
continue living as a people (the nation YSCHRaEL), but the mercy of
YaHuWaH kept us from totally losing contact with Him until the day has
again come when we have another occasion to fulfill all that this means.
Priests: to help others approach YaHuWaH. YSCHRaEL had its own priests
(officiators), but as YaHuWaH's firstborn, the entire people were called to
be a priest, or light to the nations. We officiate on His behalf, not our
own—not even for the sake of YSCHRaEL as such, but for the sake of
Tziyon, which is YSCHRaEL as joined together with YaHuWaH.
YaHuWaH intended for YSCHRaEL to be a special treasure unto Him. He
wanted them to be a people with a unique place in YaHuWaH’s great plan,
a people of great value and concern to YaHuWaH.
Ephesians 1:18
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with Light so that you can
understand the wonderful future He has promised to those He called. I
want you to realize what a rich and magnificent inheritance He has given
to His people.
Paul longed for Believers to know how great a treasure they were to
YaHuWaH; he prayed they would know what are the riches of the glory of
His inheritance in the saints. YaHuWaH intended for YSCHRaEL to be a
kingdom of priests, where every believer could come before YaHuWaH
themselves, and everyone could represent YaHuWaH to the nations. Peter
reminds us we are a royal priesthood, those who serve YaHuWaH as both kings and priests (and has made us kings and priests to His YaHuWaH and
Father, . YaHuWaH intended for YSCHRaEL to be a Sacred nation, a
Nation and people set apart from the rest of the world, the particular
possession of YaHuWaH, fit for His purposes. Peter reminds us we are a
Sacred nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises
of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. As
YaHuWaH’s people, we must be set apart, thinking and doing differently
than others in this world all this could only be fulfilled if YSCHRaEL would
stay in YaHuWaH’s word. The word then is an important word here. Apart
from knowing and doing YaHuWaH’s word, YaHuWaH’s destiny for the
nation would never be fulfilled. The covenant was greater than the law
itself. The covenant YaHuWaH would make with YSCHRaEL involved law,
Sacrifice and the choice to obey and be blessed or to disobey and be
cursed.
Each of these glorious privileges carried with it a special responsibility. If
YaHuWaH regarded YSCHRaEL as something special among the nations,
they had to conduct themselves as something special among the nations.
YaHuWaH chose for Himself YSCHRaEL, when as yet but a single family, or
rather a single person,
Abraham
Duet 7:7
YaHuWaH didn’t set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were
more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all peoples
Set apart by him from all other people, and devoted to his worship and
service, and many of them were sanctified and made Sacred in a special
and Ruwach sense; and therefore should not conform to the customs of
Gentiles,
Duet 7:6
For you are a Set-apart people to YaHuWaH your Aluahiym: YaHuWaH
your Aluahiym has chosen you to be an especially-valued treasure above
all peoples who are on the face of the earth.
The "you" here is singular; He sees us as one man. Especially-valued
treasure: Hirsch, “belonging exclusively to Himself". The door is open to
any who would follow YaHuWSHuWaH by walking in Torah. “Many are
called—but few are chosen”, for only those who leave behind their former
treasures can be YaHuWaH’s treasure. Few end up actually being the
elect, because they do not follow the call they hear.
YaHuWaH your ALuaHiYM has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above
all the peoples on the face of the earth.
YaHuWaH had chosen YSCHRaEL to be a people who were separated to
Himself. He did not want them to be like the other nations. He did not . . .
choose them because of their superior numbers (they were the fewest of
all peoples). He chose them simply because He loved them, and He
wanted them to obey Him in
all things.
Duet 7:8
Rather, because YaHuWaH loves you, and because He would keep the
oath which He swore to your fathers, has YaHuWaH brought you out with
a mighty hand, and rescued you from your slave-quarters-- from the hand
of Par'oh king of Mitsrayim.
Moshe reminds them of the Ten Commandments given in Horeb; and it is
to be remarked, that the deliverance out of Egypt (not the rest of
YaHuWaH after the work of creation) is the reason he gives for the
Sabbath: it became a sign of His covenant with YSCHRaEL
(Has with Moshe and Egypt, so with the world today, come out of
her my people, and you will receive my ten utterances,)
Those that are taken into communion with YAHUWAH must have no
Communication with the unfruitful works of darkness. These things they
are charged about for the preventing of this snare now before them.
For there is more likelihood that the good will be perverted, than that the
bad will be converted. The desperate wickedness of the human heart,
revealing its ingratitude, stubbornness, rebellion, and folly; YaHuWaH’s
longsuffering, patience, love and mercy.
No book in the Scripture brings these two truths into sharper contrast
—the utter failure of YSCHRaEL and the persistent grace of YaHuWaH!
“Thus the last shall be first, and the first last. For many are called,
but few chosen
A parable gives us more understanding
Mat 20:1
“For the Reign of YaHuWaH is like a man who was the master of a
household, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his
vineyard. When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he
sent them into his vineyard. He went out about the third hour, and saw
others standing idle in the marketplace. To them he said, ‘You also go into
the vineyard, and whatever is right I shall give you.’ So they went their
way .Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did
likewise. About the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing
idle. He said to them, ‘Why do you stand here all day idle?’ “They said to
him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ „He said to them, ‘You also go into the
vineyard, and you shall receive whatever is right. ’When evening had
come, the Master of the vineyard said to his manager, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.’ „When
those who were hired at about the eleventh hour came, they each
received a denarius. When the first came, they supposed that they would
receive more; and they likewise each received a denarius. When they
received it, they murmured against the master of the household, saying,
‘These last have spent one hour, and you have made them equal to us,
who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat!’ “But he
answered one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn’t you
agree with me for a denarius? Take that which is yours, and go your way.
It is my desire to give to this last just as much as to you. Isn’t it lawful for
me to do what I want to with what I own? Or is your eye evil [stingy], because I am good?’ So the last shall be first, and the first last.
For many are called, but few are chosen.”
What meaning does this parable have for us?
To all justice shall be done.”
To all to whom the rewards of heaven are promised they shall be given.
Nothing shall be withheld that was promised. “Many are called into my
Kingdom; they come and labor as I command them; many of them are Comparatively unknown and obscure; yet they are real believers, and
shall all receive the proper reward. Many receive the invitations of the
Gospel whom YaHuWaH has never
“Chosen to
Salvation through sanctification of the Ruwach and belief of the truth”
2 Th 2:13-14.
As for us, we always thank YaHuWaH for you, dear brothers and sisters
loved by YaHuWaH. We are thankful that YaHuWaH chose you from the
beginning (Bereshiyth) to experience deliverance, a deliverance that came
through the Ruwach Who makes you Set-apart and by your belief in the truth. He called you to deliverance when we told you the Besorah; now
you can share in the splendor of our Master YaHuWSHuWaH the Anointed.
Eph_1:4;
Long ago, even before the disruption of the world, YaHuWaH loved us and

[According as “B-Rë’shíyth bârâ´” [Bereshiyth 1: 1] “Beforehand He

1 Co 2:7;
But we speak YaHuWaH’s wisdom in a secret, the wisdom that has been hidden, which YaHuWaH foreordained before the worlds for our esteem,
which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it,
they wouldn’t have impaled the Master of esteem. But as it is written:
Yasha. 64:4
“Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter
into the heart of man, these YaHuWaH has prepared for those who love
Him.”
But we speak the wisdom of ALuaHiYM, which was hidden in a secret, and which ALuaHiYM ordained before the ages for our esteem, which no one of
the rulers of this age knew, for if they had known, they would not have
impaled the Master of esteem. But as it has been written, “Eye has not
seen, and ear has not heard, nor have entered into the heart of man what
ALuaHiYM has prepared for those who love Him
2 Ti 1:9
It is YaHuWaH Who saved us and called us with a set-apart calling, not
according to our works, but according to His own purpose and favor,
which was given us in HaMaSHiYaCH YaHuWSHuWaH from time before the
ages (before the beginning of time) and is now made manifest by the
appearing of our Savior YaHuWSHuWaH haMashiyach - who abolished death, and has brought Life and immortality to light through the Besorah.
Which we the true Nätzräya, appointed a proclaimer, and an
emissary, and a teacher of the gentiles.
Although we know we're saved by grace, why is it that we have a
tendency to think we can only be blessed through works? Yes, Ya’aqov
says faith without works is dead
Ya'aqob 2:20.
But do you want to know, vain man, that belief apart from works is dead?
However, blessing comes neither from faith and works, nor from faith or
works, but from faith that works in response to the grace YAHUWAH has
already bestowed upon us.
Arguing that faith without works is dead, the Book of Ya’aqob so incensed
Martin Luther that the reformer called it "a veritable straw Epistle that
should be thrown into the Rhine River." Yet Ya’aqob proves that faith
without works is dead by pointing to the example of Abraham. It's not that
Abraham was saved by taking Yitzchak up the mountain to sacrifice him in
obedience to YaHuWaH. No, Ya’aqob says the work that saved Abraham took place years before that when he simply believed in YaHuWaH
Ya'aqob 2:23-24
and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed YaHuWaH,
and it was credited to him for righteousness;” and he was called the friend
of YaHuWaH
YashaYahuw 41:8
“But you, YSCHRaEL, My servant, Ya'aqob whom I have chosen, the seed
of Abraham My friend,
You see then that from works, a man is made-right, and not only by
belief.
Bereshiyth 15:5,
YaHuWaH brought him outside, and said, “Look now toward the sky, and
count the stars, if you are able to count them.” He said to Abram, “So
shall your seed be.”
The primary idea is that his descendants would be innumerable. But again
the term "seed" is singular (Gal. 3:16), and so a secondary interpretation concerns the Mazzaroth--the original, pure zodiac--"signs", cf. 1:14, which
foretold the story of the promised Redeemer: "Enumerate the stars in
order--this is what [Mashiyach] will be like!" (cf. Psalm 19:1 The heavens
declare the honor of Aluahiym. The expanse shows His handywork. ff: i.e.,
the promised Seed will fulfill this other form of prophecy as well).
He believed/trusted in the Word of YaHuWaH [Memra]; and He reckoned it
to him for righteousness.
Believed: stood firm in his trust or confidence; based on the verb form of
"amen", which means "established" or "trustworthy". He merited being
written in the Book of the Righteous (Dan. 7:10; Rev. 20:12) because he trusted confidently in YaHuWaH's promise, though it was impossible! This
can apply to us too. (Gal. 3:9) The same affirmation is given to Pin’has
(Ps. 106:31) because he acted on his belief: he intervened when even
Moshah stood by, and held off a plague. But Romans 4:9ff points out that
Abram was counted righteous before he was circumcised--before he had
done any particularly religious acts, though he could not have gotten to
where he was without trusting YaHuWaH at each juncture. Now he
believes his line will continue, but he still had to do his part in fathering a
child. He must still walk in a way that proves he believes. (Ya'aqob 2:20ff)
If he had stopped here, none of this would have come about.
For what does the Scripture say?
“Abraham believed ALuaHiYM, and it was reckoned to him for
righteousness
Do we then nullify the Torah through the belief? Let it not be! On the
contrary, we establish the Torah.
NO WHY
Or should that be
NO WAY
So that the Torah truly is set-apart, and the command set-apart, and
righteous,and good.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a set-apart nation, a people
for a possession, that you should proclaim the praises of Him who called
you out of darkness into His marvelous light, who once were not a people,
but now the people of ALuaHiYM; who had not obtained compassion, but
now obtained compassion. Not only are we children in the same family
and stones in the same building, but we are priests in the same temple…
As children of the same family, stones in the same building, priests in the
same temple, we are also citizens of the same nation.
People look at us and say,
"What a peculiar group you are."
I'm glad they look at us as being strangers!
We has YSCHRaEL’ites are a chosen or elected race, to be a special people
unto the YaHuWaH ALuaHiYM ,above all people that are upon the face of
the earth We are also a royal priesthood, or what Moses calls a kingdom of priests,.
For we were called to sacrifice to YaHuWaH;
And he is represented to be the King of us, and Father of those of whom
he was king; therefore we are all royal. A Sacred nation, separated from
all the people of the earth, that we might worship the one only true
YaHuWaH , and abstain from the abominations that were in the
Heathen world.
“For we are sojourners and pilgrims before You, as were all our fathers;
our days on earth are as a shadow, and without permanence.
We are few in number, few indeed, and sojourners in this Age of Man,
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust
destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves
treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where
thieves do not break in and steal.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart shall be also.
