Blue Daily Folders are sent home every afternoon. These folders allow you to track your child’s daily behavior in the classroom. Please talk with your child about the tickets pulled and the importance of following classroom rules. Mrs. Meinzer records tickets in red & Mrs. Borque records tickets in blue.
The number of tickets pulled (plus additional verbal warnings & teacher observations) determines your child’s daily/weekly conduct grade.
Tickets pulled for the previous week are recorded in your child’s blue Tuesday Folder. We average these grades together to determine your child’s Conduct grade.
Weekly Conduct Grading Scale
Excellent = 0 tickets pulled
Satisfactory = 2-3 tickets pulled
Needs Improvement = 4-6 tickets pulled
Unsatisfactory = 7+ tickets pulled
Daily Conduct Grading Scale
Excellent = 0 tickets pulled
Satisfactory = 1 ticket pulled
Needs Improvement = 2 tickets pulled
Unsatisfactory = 3+ tickets pulled
Homework
Homework Folders (green) go home on Monday. ALL Homework is expected to be completed and
returned on Friday. Late and incomplete homework will result in a lowered Homework grade on your child’s Report Card.
On occasion, extra homework may be given to students who are struggling in an academic area.
School Hours School starts at 8:00 a.m.
A child that is not in class by 8:20 must go to the office for a Tardy Slip.
A student who is tardy 4 times during a nine-week grading period, will receive a letter about the tardy policy. Please sign and return this letter.
After the 5th tardy, the conduct grade will be lowered one letter grade for that particular nine-weeks.
Please call the attendance office if your child is going to be absent. Send written notes and Dr. notes to the attendance office upon return.
There are no Early Dismissals after 2:40.
School ends at 3:15.
Lunch Parents may come eat lunch with their Kindergarten
child on Wednesdays. All visitors must sign-in at the front office and receive a visitor’s name tag. Please sit at the Visitor’s table in front of the stage.
If your child plans on buying lunch, please make sure they have sufficient funds in their lunch account. Ham sandwiches are given to students with an overdrawn lunch account.
Children need to know their lunch pin# if they plan on buying lunch. We have extra practice keypad sheets that we can send home if needed.
Please pack lunch items that your child can open independently. Remind your child to raise their hand if they need help opening something.
Please send a nutritious lunch with your child. This will help them be an active learner all day.
