Classical chamber music

Apply for chamber music participation every quarter on the College Office website.

Requests for placement will be considered, but coordinators are responsible for assignments.

You may enroll in one chamber ensemble per quarter for 0 credit. To be in a second group, you will be charged for the 1 credit registration.

#1 mistake—check your registration to be sure you are registered for the correct credits.

JAZZ: Students are assigned to combos by Professor Hall after auditions.

Undergraduate students take a 2-year sequence of musicianship courses:

• Musicianship I-VI• 4 credits each quarter

• Aural Training I-VI• 1 credit each quarter

• Group Piano I-VI• 1 credit each quarter

• Most students must pass each level with a C- or higher before proceeding to the next level• Music education students must pass

with a C or higher

• Students who fail a level must wait a year before re-enrolling in that level

• Aural training tests offered each quarter

• Students who pass out of group piano or aural training will need to replace the credit(s) with music electives –in other words, you pass out of the class, but not the credit.

• Important Deadlines:• Before 2 weeks - no penalty on grade• After 2nd week – W grade• After 7th week – FX grade

• In case of medical or personal emergency, students may request withdrawal after the deadlines by submitting a request and supporting documentation to the Dean of Students Office
