PM: How Long have you been making music?

Trey Frey: . I have been playing music since I was about 8 years old, and have been 'composing' since I was about 11. I started

out in a few bands writing variations of rock music during high school, and then I started writing electronic music when I

was 17.PM: How was you introduced to

beat making?Trey Frey: I was introduced to

electronic music by a few friends when I was in high

school. Mostly old school house music and weird european synth pop groups. The old

analog synthesizer sound really struck a chord in me, and I've been in love with it ever since.

PM: Whats your process to ignite your creative projects? Trey Frey: . I usually focus on a specific genre of music if I want to be inspired to write a certain way, whether it's french house,

tech, drum and bass, or hip hop.

PM: Do you have any musical influences?Trey Frey: Yes, quite a few. The band that really made me interested in 8 bit sounding music is called Slagsmalsklubben, a swedish group consisting of about six guys playing synths, drum machines, etc. In terms of other musicians that use a similar set up as I do, I really enjoy the artists: Ultrasyd, Henry Homesweet, Sabrepulse, and cTrix.PM:Can you describe your musical setup / equipment?Trey Frey: My live set up for the past year-ish consists of a Vestax dj mixer, and 2 1989 original Nintendo Gameboys, running a program called Little Sound Dj, which allows me to compose and perform music on the gameboys.

PM: Do you have many outlets to perform your music?Trey Frey: I have been very blessed with opportunities to play all over the East Coast. I have played various places from New York City to Tampa Fl, and a few festivals such as Big Dub Festival in Pennsylvania.PM: . What is your favorite music track that you have worked on?Trey Frey: As of right now my favorite song I have made is called "Daisy." It has several emotional ties to it and I believe that is what makes some of the best music.
