Dear friends,
In these extraordinary times, unique opportunities and gifts open up for us as well as

struggles and sadness. One gift is the chance to worship together in a unique way
online with our brothers and sisters in other church communities - not just knowing
others are worshipping as St Mary's online community together far and wide, but
also joining in worship together through the wonderfully creative and diverse online
services offered by other church communities around us. What a gift to be able to
worship more easily in these times as one church family together - not even having
to be in two places at once to do so!
On Trinity Sunday it's particularly appropriate to celebrate our relationships of love,
in God and with one another. Invited, as always, into the relationship of love which is
the great dance and movement of God, three in one, blessed Trinity. Rublev's
famous Trinity icon (below) invites us to take our place (represented by the space
left at the front), to find our home, in the communion of God's love....in relationship.
God, three in one, who makes his home in us as we grow in his image, grow in our
relationship with Jesus the Son, who reveal's the Father to us, sends the Holy Spirit
to sustain, comfort, guide and inspire us. Blake's delicate Trinity sketch (above),
draws me into the tenderness of God's love.....I wonder how Blake's image speaks
to you of God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit?
So this Sunday, I hope you can enjoy the space and opportunity to join in one, or
even a few, of our neighbouring churches' diverse range of services as we worship
and praise God together (please just click on the links below). We are blessed to be
part of a wonderful worshipping community around us here in Shalford and, through
our global partnerships, in Uganda and India; church family friends we're all getting
to know more closely as we journey on together. Let's celebrate and give thanks for
our unity and rich diversity, as we join as Christians together in our relationship of
love, as the body of Christ, the church. And as we pray for all who suffer exclusion,
racial injustice and oppression, lack of relationships of love. And pray too for all who
are sick or in pain, particularly those in our parish who are in hospital and
undergoing critical treatment this week.
More news below too.
Holy God, faithful and unchanging:
enlarge our minds with the knowledge of your truth,
and draw us more deeply into the mystery of your love,
that we may truly worship you,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen
with love and prayers,
Rev'd Sarah

A HUGE THANK YOU FROM HOSPITAL STAFFYou have been so generous in your donated gifts of luxury toiletries via the collectionsin St Mary's church porch for staff in local hospitals. Harriet, who has coordinated allthis, wants to pass on huge thanks to you from all the staff in our local hospitals. A
couple of the many messages of thanks below, first from a consultant who took in to herICU in Frimley hospital the first gifts...
“I am just having a moment. Eyes welling up with tears. Again. Just sorting throughsome of the boxes from your church collection. I am slightly overwhelmed by people’sgenerosity and most of all the little handwritten notes they have attached. I’m taking
them in on Saturday, for the (male) porters, theatre and recovery nurses who have allhad to retrain to work in ICU and seem to be having the toughest time. Cx”
“Morning! This is some of the night shift nurses receiving their Shalford gifts. - they wereoverwhelmed and v emotional to be given them. Some of the messages your friendshave included on the donations were incredibly moving. Hit just the right spot. Thank
you. Xxx”

Malcolm Guite's Sonnet for Trinity Sunday
In the Beginning, not in time or space,
But in the quick before both space and time,
In Life, in Love, in co-inherent Grace,
In three in one and one in three, in rhyme,
In music, in the whole creation story,
In His own image, His imagination,
The Triune Poet makes us for His glory,
And makes us each the other's inspiration.
He calls us out of darkness, chaos, chance,
To improvise a music of our own,
To sing the chord that calls us to the dance,
Three notes resounding from a single tone,
To sing the End in whom we all begin;
Our God beyond, beside us and within.
