FACT: The Openreach fibre access
network is now bigger than Virgin Media’s cable network
In Nov 2012, we announced that instead of hitting our target of bringing fibre to 66% UK by end 2015 we’d do this by spring 2014! Rising to 90% coverage in the coming years with BDUK.
‘Leap of a Faith’ following frustration with connections
So why do businesses decided to move to fibre?
– For some it has been a ‘Leap of Faith’ but it doesn’t need to be this way
– The inability of old internet connection to meet needs mostly drives the
decision to get fibre
– Increased speed and bandwidth are seen as the main motivational drivers
– Sometimes better speed & bandwidth is needed with specific functions in mind…
67% 84%
The good news is that those have made the leap are hooked…
…17 percentage point increase in satisfaction with connection!
