“I originally developed the C-Wheel to use on teacher
education courses in order to help develop
awareness and understanding of ways to
create optimal conditions for children’s
learning, whatever the age. My aim was two-fold:
firstly, to provide a flexible tool which could be
applied to many different teaching and learning
contexts, and secondly, to suggest that by adopting
an approach in which we take account of the whole
child, we are likely to be more effective and
successful in our work as language teachers.”

Think about all eight segments.
Describe them and say why they
are key factors to help us,

for learning.

“It is the quality of teaching rather than
the content of the curriculum that is
the key to realizing a child’s
potential.”
