The research project presented as part of this thesis was developed by an international collaboration between the University Medical Center Groningen in The Netherlands, the hospital of gynecology and obstetrics at the National Medical Center “La Raza” in Mexico City, and the Faculty of Psychology of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). The author of the thesis established the collaboration between the institutions. The study was financed by the University Medical Center Groningen and partly by a grant of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) in Mexico. The printing of the book was financially supported by the University of Groningen, the University Medical Center Groningen, and the Research Institute SHARE.
