UoA, NTUA, AUTh ATLAS Overview week 1-7 Oct 2004
BIS Integration and Commissioning Status
• All 112 bare BIS chambers are at CERN
• All but 5 are equipped with gas bars, FC’s and HH cards
• 78 chambers (156 ML’s) have been leak tested
• 29 chambers are kept pressurized at 3bars, to be measured periodically. They will be certified at the 283 leak test set up
• 3 chambers are fully equipped with cables sensors and electronics
• 1 chamber was measured in the cosmic stand

• 156 ML’s pass the leak test
• 4 ML’s have a pressure drop > 4mbars/day
UoA, NTUA, AUTh ATLAS Overview week 1-7 Oct 2004
• 3 BIS chambers has been equipped with mezzanine cards, RO cables, T-sensors and alignment cables
Open issues -Missing Open issues -Missing itemsitems
•Define the procedure to fix the stiff RO cables in order to respect the chamber envelope
•Some of the CCC platform placement tools
•Protective covers and their fixing procedure
UoA, NTUA, AUTh ATLAS Overview week 1-7 Oct 2004
A BIS chamber -12 mezzanines (36 tube/layer)- is measured at the cosmic stand at Bldg 283
Maximum Drift Time variation for the 12 mezzanines < 20μsec
(mezz for the trigger is used)

Summary for BIS integration
•BIS chamber integration proceeds without major problems and delays
•The main effort is now concentrated in the logistics of chamber handling for cabling
•Cosmic test has taken off. Online monitoring is now running on root. Improvements are envisaged
